DFRPG / Chicagoland locations with lots of game potential.

I like the Robbie House
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robie_House

Designed by famed architectural madman Frank Lloyd Wright, it's just shy of 100 years old and served as a seminary dormitory for 15 years. In addition to this the seminary school wanted to tear it down to put in a more traditional (and functional) dorm structure, but after several years of legal battles it was designated a historic landmark putting the Kai bosh on that.

Huge and maze-like? Check.
Sordid past involving the clergy? Check.
Gunfire and demon summonings? Only a matter of time.

Lore: From Last Call:
She muttered to herself. She poured some of the beer out into the beaker and held it up to the light from a specially prepared candle. She scrawled power calculations on a notebook.

And twenty minutes later, she said, “Hah. Tricky, but not tricky enough.”

4ASF Murphy begins teaching Harry to stick fight.
From Heorot:
"I don’t think Caine knew much about quarterstaff fighting. Murphy had been teaching it to me, however, for almost four years."

-Invincible
-The Walking Dead
-The Astounding Wolf-Man
(noticing a Kirkman theme? On time in '09.)

-Conan the Barbarian (now Cimmerian)
-The Dark Tower series.
-The Stand
and I'm currently borrowing the trades of 100 bullets from my buddy Sam.

I'm down on this like you don't even know. I'm currently part of two gaming groups, one is weekly, and one is significantly less often. I told them about the dresden RPG long ago and said that when it came out we'd be playing whether they like it or not. They said they were down too.

in response to all the "number of regional commanders" questions, I think it's something like this...*deep Inhale*

It all starts with 4 regional commanders, when Morgan is promoted that brings it down to 3. Harry then fills this position bringing the total back up to four. this is when the war with the red court kicks into high gear and the other 2 commanders are killed, leaving just harry in chicago and Carlos in LA, so there you go everyone is right...*whew*

Quickie edit to remove spoiler for White Night.  --Priscilla

That may have been true in 1e, but in 2e they've done away with that rather arbitrary distinction.  Heck, 24-25 is now considered to be the peak of human achievement.  Plus, Harry isn't quite "mortal", at least by comic book standards.  Still, thanks for pointing that out.

Cheers,
Save vs DM

Dang it! they always do that to me. I start playing a game and then they release a new edition. It happened with shadowrun, and now this. hopefully MNM 2e isn't going to be the bastardization Shadowrun 4e ended up being.

small problem with your dresden. His two stats of 22 cannot be. 20 is the max stat for a human without powers that enhance an attribute. I'll let it slide for mouse because he's a dog.

Series (After Storm Front)

0 ASF, April: Storm Front.  Harry is 27 or 28, and he's been wizarding professionally for two years.  As an anonymous reader points out, "I was just starting Storm Front again, and I noticed this:
Quote
The end of the twentieth century and the dawn of the new millennium had seen something of a renaissance in the public awareness of the paranormal...
which would seem to imply that the events of Storm Front take place no earlier than 2000."  I'm guessing 2002 at the very earliest, meaning that the Dresden books occur a few years into the future with respect to when they're published.

I'm tired of living in the shadows...It was ME! I'm the anonymous tipster...but seriously, did I forget to sign that email?

Dresden would work in the Shadowrun system but he would have a hell of a time in the game. The Shadowrun system applies drain to magic users, which has been used in the books and I REALLY REALLY like. You have a bad ass mage and not be to over the top powerful. If Dresden was in the CoC system he'd either be dead or nuts so let's not go there. In the Rifts system Dresden could be any number of magic using classes. So thats why I used the D20 system it has its downs but you can find ways to get around them IF you have the right books. If you don't then the system is pretty stiff. Thank you WoTC for having my paycheck go to more books then I really need. I know that in the D20 system that the skill points can be limiting but you can always cross class.I have made an error with Kincad he would be a Epic level fighter. If anyone lives more then a century I think you'd be an Epic level person. Hey if anyone wants to add more please do I love "hearing" it all

I just created a new shadowrunner last night for a campaign my friend started, I made a Battle Mage named...Harry Dresden. Of course some of the things I did with that character break almost every law of magic...especially the first.
