Question among my @HarriedWizard RPG group for @longshotauthor : would changelings be sterile? and if not how would the genetics work?
@DeusSolis @HarriedWizard No, not at all. And cautiously.
@DeusSolis @HarriedWizard :D Consider it a dormant gene group that could potentially be activated by environmental exposure.
@longshotauthor @HarriedWizard So a half-elf changeling could have kids that when exposed 2 faerydom, child could exhibit faery qualities?
@DeusSolis @HarriedWizard Yeah, though they'd need more exposure the wider the generation gap was. It would be impractical at some point.

That sure opens up more changeling character concepts... Interesting, indeed!

That's very much like DC's metagene.

Heh, what a coincidence. I made an NPC along a similar concept last week :-)

Interesting.
Assuming the same rule works for other kinds of scions, that also helps explain how the "Temple Dogs are essentially the same things as Foo Dogs since they inherit the power" WoJ is consistent with the implication in the books that Temple Dogs are a consistent bloodline several generations removed from Foo Dogs.

I was running with this theory when I made a character a while back. His great-grandfather was a fire demon (NeverNever kind, not Down Below kind), and his family had made a deal. He ended up getting thrown into the magical world, and became fire-proof!
