Title: For those building cities for their games...
Post by: Delmorian on August 03, 2010, 04:55:22 AM
I am going to use this thread to put up interesting links to sites regarding mythic, mystical or other wise helpful "spooky" stuff for areas around the country. If you wished to, you could join me.

This is a link to Sacred Indian Mound and Burial sights

Unfortunately that list isn't comprehensive as far as mounds go. Near Tallahassee there are several others that arn't there. The Velda Mound and the Letchworth mound (the tallest in the state) which are both in public parks and well marked. In addition there are supposedly 40 others around one of the local lakes which arn't publicly marked anywhere for protection purposes.

The link below is a site I used for information on creating a DFRPG version of New Haven, CT as well as for portions of San Francisco during the playtest.  It is essentially an index of places that have reportedly been haunted in the US.

Thanks for the additions. We can get this going for lots of help to GM's.
I found something the other day, check out Rotonda, Florida 33947 on Google Maps.

I know it was origonaly just a cluster of developments that went defunct (check that on wikipedia) but the design and orientation gave me... ideas. As I am setting my game in South Florida, you KNOW that city is going to be some weird haven for exotics.

Delmorian, I am over in the Ft. Myers area, not starting my campaign til January, but if you do anything with Rotanda you will have to let me know so if my players ever venture up that way it can stay true to what has happened :-)

I've often wondered if this is a project that's worth databasing - resources for city building and the end product themselves.

I'm no programmer and I know someone out there has already got an online resource for stunts & powers & other things (I think its deadmanwalking's project) but that would be something I'd be quite happy to pitch in for content.

I've been building a London and we'll be setting that up in play in the next couple of weeks, I'll post my stuff when its all finished and done.
