DFRPG / I am bad at GMing - No compels.
« on: August 23, 2011, 01:06:00 PM »
So i obviously have a problem at GMing DF and Fate as it is. For an 4 hour session with 3 players i will make 2 compels, at my best.  An it is a problem because players did not get steady flow of Fate Points. And after time they getting more passive and cautious.
This really frustrate me. Obviously i am not trying hard enough, so any of you can help me with some words?

PS. I have large GM experience with non Fate systems and about 5-7 games with Fate ones.

DFRPG / Fallout as antigrapple mechanism.
« on: August 01, 2011, 09:46:27 AM »
So, lets assume that i am wizard with 5 conviction and 0 fists. Big Nasty Ape grapple me with 10 block and squeeze. So as my living option i will make an attack spell with 10 power and fire and deliberately fail my Discipline. Then i will route all power in fallout. Do i get one burning ape? Or grapple wins and i still must pass block value?

... it was legit for Harry in Foul Moon.  ;D

DFRPG / Invoking(Compelling) Stunts?
« on: November 01, 2010, 08:47:10 AM »
So, we can Invoke someone aspect if we know it. Can we go further and invoke someone stunt if we know it? Or maybe even Compell it?
Example: C has an Subtle Menace Stunt, we know it and "wannabecreative": "Yuck! No offence man, you scare me a lot!" and get +2 for invoking Subtle Menace on Empathy roll?

Thoughts anyone?

DFRPG / Fate Points economy flow.

I have some situations and i need some clarifications.
Main question is — where FP go after (to PC, NPC or GM)?
1) PC invoke _his_ aspect in conflict versus NPC.
2) PC invoke NPC aspect in conflict versus NPC.
3) PC compel NPC via aspect.
4) PC compel NPC via consequence.
5) PC self-compel via consequence. ("I realy need to see a doctor") Do FP generation realy occurs in this situation?

Number 3 is easy i think FP goes to NPC, but others.... Im kinda not realy sure.

DFRPG / Grappling and Feeding.
« on: October 11, 2010, 05:57:46 AM »
I need some clarification about some situation.
Let`s presume we had Troll Scion (TS) and WCV going in melee.
TS initiating grapple by maneuver via Fists and creating Aspect "Gotcha!" on WCV.
And now is a tricky question: Can WCV initiate feed+incite emotion on TS by tagging this "Gotcha!" aspect?
And if he can... do he also can make in one action Block from Incite Emotion by Emotion Touch and Attack from Emotional Vampire by Feeding Touch?

Because if he can... it so mean  ;D

DFRPG / Demon: The Fallen template to Dresdenverse.
« on: June 21, 2010, 09:39:49 AM »
Im running a game of DtF and trying to figure out Fallen template for DFRPG.
In WoD we have several innate powers that each Fallen has such as:
Immunity to Mind-Control, Immunity to Possesion, Resistance to Illusion, Resistance to Lethal Damage, Healing Physical Damage, Invocation and Supernatural Awarenes.
In Dresdenverse, i think, it will look like this:

Marked by Power [-1]
Human Guise [-0]
Feeding Dependency [+1] (Faith) - Fallen angels need Faith to survive as a sentinent being. If all Faith is lost, they turns to rampaging, selfish, driven by Torment demons. Thus, if Hunger stress track is full they need to reap some Faith from mortals or drive self right to the Gates of Hell. Fallen can swap their physical stress track with hunger stress track (this represent Healing Physical Damage ability).
 Feeding Dependency affect next abilities:
Inhuman Toughness[-2]
Inhuman Recovery[-2]
The Sight [-1]
Sponsored Magic *

Refresh [-5] on innate powers only, without evocation (magic) and apocalyptic form (more magic :)) is a kinda tough. So i will be gratefull for a little thought out of the box. Anyone?
