Snark Knight's point about Cowl not believing that Harry survived the Corpsetaker is valid. If Cowl is future Marcone, he would know that Harry was telling the truth. There would be no reason to pretend to be surprised that Harry escaped. It would be a weird move if Marcone is Cowl.

Was Maggie using a variation of the Sight to identify what was in those kids? Is that why she is so jumpy because she is seeing something that others don't see?

I got the sense that that wasn't a "magical power" thing, it was a "being a kid" thing. The story wasn't totally clear, but it seemed to be indicating that haunts and creeps and baglers and underhides and whatnot were things that all kids could see and had to deal with, but forgot about as they grew up. Then again, maybe not, because the kids Maggie rescued didn't seem to know what was going on. Still, ZD talked about how each of the Carpenter kids also once knew about them then forgot as they got older, and apparently there's a "Book." Maggie is the first adolescent voice we've heard from in any story so far, so it would make sense that we haven't heard of them before. Although I immediately thought of Ivy, and I wonder how her knowledge of them would work with the Archive?

I loved this short story, it might be my favorite. Maggie's character is awesome, and now I really want that Maggie/Mouse series.

DF Spoilers / Re: The Well of Demonreach and the White Council?

Oh, yeah, thanks Snark Night, I'd forgotten that part. So it's likely that Langtry is in the know about the island. Putting Harry under surveillance rather than something more drastic would seem to indicate that the Council doesn't have any meaningful control over or affiliation with Demonreach. Or maybe not. The council obviously has a vested interest in the Well, and the history of the White Council and the Well seem connected. I was just wondering if anyone had any WoJs or WAGs about the subject.

DF Spoilers / The Well of Demonreach and the White Council?

Long time lurker, very rare poster, first time new topic starter. You know how it goes.

I apologize if this topic has been discussed elsewhere, and I'd gladly accept re-directions to another thread, but I was just curious about the Well, the Warden, and how much, if at all, that whole shindig is affiliated with the WC? Are they *in charge* of it? Is the Warden a White Council role? I haven't read the books in a while (almost out of school, so I'm up for a re-read in a few weeks) but I recall that Ebenezer, Listens-to Wind, and the Gatekeeper seemed to appreciate Demonreach for what it is, Ancient Mai seemed clueless, Luccio might know something, and I don't think we have had any indication on Langtry's knowledge about the island. Ebenezer even was hinted at having a somewhat more intimate knowledge of the history of Warden succession. We also know that OM created both Demonreach and the White Council, so... are they officially affiliated? Or unrelated projects of Merlin? How much do we know about that?

Uh, wizard nelson, I don't really understand what you're saying. Because something exists in the NN, it isn't real? You mean, like, Faerie? Seems sorta real...

Also, I'm new here, kind of. What's a Mirror Mirror book?

EDIT: Never mind, I found it. Cool stuff...
