Do they have Magical healers in the Dresdenverse? Harry makes it sound like Healing Magic is next to impossible.

It's pretty damn rare.  The only instance we have of it on the page is healing done by one of the Queens of the Summer Court, and she's operating with a power source that's way off the scale.

Awww, shucks... :-\

We'll, it's back to the ol' D&D cleric then...  ;D Meric the medic cleric.
Whoa. Did he change his name so it would rhyme with cleric, or did he decide to be a cleric because it rhymed with Meric?
OR WAS IT A COINCIDENCE?!! *ja ja ja!*

No coincidence. It's a calling.  ;D

(I wanted to play a cleric and because my group used healing potions wholesale, I figured he would have to be the medic of the group.)

I'd definately want to be a healer. A sarcastic, pessimistic kind of healer. But one that just can't help himself. He just has to help people who get hurt. Ow, as a sidenote, he would take the illness in his own body, but would be able to get over it. (explaining the negative personality a bit)

Really? Wow, I never looked at a story this way. I'm starting to warm up to it.  ;D before you know it, I might start writing myself. (instead of the very short stories that never seem to grow into books)

Speaking of Nerdfury... j/k  ;)

Erm... What does that mean? (this is where my nationality comes around the corner looking... (direct translation of a dutch saying)) J/K?

Thanx you guys. I'll have to read this in a bit more detail on the couch. (works for me)

I'm getting to see how a chapter should make a break in the storyline.

Thanx again!

Thank you Terrioncalling. That's about the same way I usually do things. A bit instinctively.

I'm hoping for more advise on the mechanics. Ending a chapter with a cliffhanger is a good idea. What other ways would there be. (I imagine a book of cliffhangers gets a bit strange.)

More Ideas, more. Thank you again TC.  :D Let's get this rolling.

After reading Jim's (exellent) essey's on the basics of writing, I wanted to know more. (So write more Jim.  ;D)

It hit me in bed last night.

How DO you end a chapter? Where's the break in the storyline? What do you look for?

Hmm, yeah well...erm... Liked the show and will wait longingly for the next one... and I understand time was an issue...

I just don't listen to spoken books much... never did like it.

Then again....  :-[ I like this one. Is the speaker really "Spike" from Buffy? I never noticed...

erm... Ok grudgingly accepting a great show. And you did speak slower, did you Fred? Well done.

On Nov. 29, 2083 the object wold hit. It's antimatter would interact with ordinary matter on Earth and there would be an explosion with the incredible force of 1000 megatons. New York City is doomed!

Actually I was more thinking along the lines of... Just New York City??? That kind of blast would wipe out the rest of the world as well. The last addition of "New York city was doomed" seems a bit silly.  ;D Nobody ever said writing was easy.

Whaha, I love this one:

Quickly, get out of NY. We'll be save....right?  ::)

Ye God's I'm a geek sometimes. ;D

I think I can safely say I'll be safe from the explosion, as I will either be 131 years old or the more likely option already dead. The chances for my children or their children in England might not be so good though. The equivalent of a nuclear winter seems likely. Might counteract the global warming perhaps?  ;)

I'm not quite sure about this, but isn't a thousand megatons in a single spot about enough to detroy earth or at least send is spinning out of orbit?

Remote access. I always find it fun to see my "arrow-thingy" moving of its own accord.  ;D

I support people from Royal Dutch Shell in NL, does that count? :)

What do you mean by support? IT??? I have an uncle who worked for Shell and traveled the globe for them. He is an Engineer. Worked on Water projects. Our national specialty. I believe Dutch engineers are looking into New Orleans at the moment.

 ;D Small world innit?
