Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Where would YOU like Jim to appear?
« on: December 15, 2012, 07:08:49 PM »
Since I live right on the border of Indiana and Ohio, if he could do Indy, Dayton, Cincy or go back to Beavercreek it would be close to me. My daughter has talked me into going see him in Beavercreek the last couple of times he's been there and I'm sure she'd love to see him again. I still laugh when her teachers see her reading his books. She's been reading him since she was 8yrs old and met him when she was 9. She just finished the latest book, Cold Days, today after only having it less than 2 days so she's very eager for him to put out another one! LOL

Eight years old?  Wow.  She must be very mature for her age!  I wouldn't dream of giving Eight-Year-Old Me these books.  :D

Actually she's a lot like me. I was reading Shakespeare when I was 8.

We went to the Turn Coat signing there for my daughter. She loves his books and has read every one several times. Wonder if he'll remember her since last time he was amazed that an 8 yr old had read his books. He even quizzed her cause he thought I was joking when I said the book was for her not me. She's already rereading the previous books so she can go straight to the new one.

Looks like he's gonna be at Books and Co. in Beavercreek OH Fri July 29th. That'll make my daughter extremely thrilled. She met him a few years ago when he was there and she was 8yrs old. He couldn't believe someone that young had read all his books. She's eagerly awaiting seeing him again and reading the newest one. She'll have it read in 36 hours or less again. LOL

yeah I'm 35 and there are times I go "Wow! I need a cigarette!" after reading some of her stuff. Papaw let her get one from the library and I had to snag it the second I saw it so she wouldn't read it. Once I explained it to her she was fine with it. She's read the Twilight series 5 times already and she just skipped the parts she didn't want to read in the last book. She's read all dresden files books twice and is on her second time through Turn Coat. I'm gonna have to hit the lottery just to keep her in books! LOL Hope Mr. Butcher writes faster! LOL

Thanks! I'm afraid she will read almost anything I throw at her. She devours books in no time flat. The only thing I've had to stop her from reading so far is Laurel K. Hamilton (I think I got the name right) and that's for obvious reasons if you've read her work. She's still a bit too young to go that far past rated "R" writing. LOL

I have to say that as a first timer at a book signing, I'm glad I went to this one. My daughter, who's 8yrs old, has read all the books and begged me to take her. Needless to say, she was the youngest one there having her book signed. I think he didn't believe she was the one reading them. She had Turn coat read by 5pm Friday. Now it's finally my turn to read it. LOL If Jim reads this I hope he realizes how hard it is to read a book after an 8yr old tells you half of it before they are done! Next time I get to read it first! LOL Maybe I'll get her started on the Alera series next....
