Elements do seem to have duality among them so perhaps fire is similar to earth except instead of being redirected towards the ground it is towards other targets hopefully will we see this later in the series.

« on: September 30, 2017, 08:02:49 PM »Fire purifies, so I imagine it just consuming offensive magics when put to the tasks. Maybe gathering momentum while absorbing incoming spells for strength. Water... Something similar to Carlos except not based on physics alone and maybe something like Mab's ice for an intentional mirror quality deflective shield. Also What LTW did on the hill top with the rain was water defense.Wind is the toughest one because it normally would be redirection but water seems to fulfill that description so I am a bit stuck on that front.

Another interesting aspect is that Uriel shares Wednesday with the All Father Odin. That day must have associations with spies or behind the scenes deities.

It seems from re-reading and other forum browsing that the Forest People/Genoskwa use magice in its most fundamental sense. The Forest People use water magic as manipulation disrupting magic and putting it back to place, while, if I am getting this right the Genoskwa uses the earth to disrupt energy into the ground. I wonder what fire and air would like at this level?

So in Skin Game when Harry was talking to Murphy about the Genoskwa he mentioned that it used earth magic the same way the Forest People used Water magic. I did not understand what he meant so could some go into more details if they know because all I got was that it was a form a defense but I do not see how that could not be water or air magic as well.

Well depriving him of a being on Mab's power level could be considered getting the better of him. Although considering the hierarchy of hell that might be a plus in Lucifer's eyes as the Denarians have shown.

It could be he sent one of his most powerful lieutenant and Uriel trapped him on the mortal plane limiting him to one realm but this is all conjecture we should glimpse more in the coming books.

Well in hindsight I forgot that he was referring to Revelations but my line of thinking was that since in the Dresdenverse everything is like the blind man and the elephant and Lucifer was not in the Old testament, and since Dracula was the creator of the Black Court I thought why not.

So I saw this thread in the Dresden Files Reddit about the nature of Drakul and I have my own theory that has its origin in Grave Peril. In that book Michael calls Mavra "blood of the Dragon that old Serpent." Now Drakul was known as the dragon, as for the serpent, well in the bible there was a serpent who tricked Eve into eating the apple, and contrary to popular belief the serpent was not Lucifer, and as Drakul is trapped in human form it seems logical what his punishment is if you take it as a metaphor. Be a curse to humans and being hunted by them in turn seems to fit and it ties vampires in the demonic hierarchy as well.
