DF Reference Collection / Re: Dresden Files: Series Timeline

In that case Changes takes place in October. I was wagering late october 2011.

If Changes was 2010, than SF would be 99, but Harry would have been 1973 (he was 25 in SF).

Another thing is that Maggie was concieved in February, and the very earliest a she could be born and healthy would be 7 months (early october would probably be her birthdate. 2003 was an election year; because of this that's the likely conception time. Meaning Changes could have occurred in either october of 2011 or October 2012.

Doubt it. They would have mentioned haloween occuring (since it was mentioned in cold days and dead beat). It was probably in the second half of the month (hence why may 9 in ghost story is said to be 7 months later)

My purely fanon theory is that the battle of Chichen Itza occurred on October 20 2011, coincidentally the same day ghadaffi bit it. I like it because it symbolizes a new dawn. Either way Changes occurs AFTER october 9th, before haloween. Was Harry at home when Susan called or in his office

So let's assume that Harry is 25 come Storm Front. That would have Storm Front and Fool Moon take place in 2002 (He'd turn 25 in 2001, and Storm Front takes place in Spring.) Grave Peril would be 2003, Summer Knight 2004, Death Masks 05, Blood Rites 06, Dead Beat 07, Grave Peril either 08 or 07, White Night 08, Small Favor, 09, Turn Coat, 11, Changes 2012.

If He was born in 74, than it would be

2000: SF and FM
2001: GP
2002: SK
2003: DM (Mayoral election year in RL, which is also occurring in the book).
2004: BR
2005: DB
2006: PG
2007: WK
2008: SF
2010: TC
2011: C
2012: GS AND CD

If Harry was born in 75

2001: SF and FM
2002: GP
2003: SK
2004: DM
2005: BR
2006: DB
2007: PG
2008: WK
2009: SF
2011: TC
2012: C
2013: GS and CD

1976

2002: SF and FM
2003: GP
2004: SK
2005: DM
2006: BR
2007: DB
2008: PG
2009: WK
2010: SF
2012: TC
2013: C
2014: GS and CD

All in All I think the 1974 birth is the most plausible; it even adds nice parallels to the real world
ex
1.) Mayoral elections line up and the Terrorist paranoia that Nick presumably planned to exploit in the aftermath of the deadly plague. Also
2.) Beginning of the War on Terror corresponds with the beginning of the Vampire War; End of Iraq War and death of bin laden corresponds with the end of the Vampire War

I guessed that the book started on a Sunday but honestly I guessed based on that it would take place after october 9th and 8 years after deathmasks

To expand on an earlier timeline attempt

October 22 2011: Maggie abducted

October 23: Changes begins
October 24: Susan and Harry meet-to when Harry contacts Ivy and gets to meet Marcone
OCtober 25: Up to Harry collapsing unconcious
OCtober 26:Up to first arrival at Chichen Itza
October 27 2011:Final battle at Chichen Itza, Harry dies. Maggie rescued. Arianna and father and Court die. I say this based on the 6 months, and if it was a week earlier they may as well have said 7 months

Okay fair enough; but why a vase and a brick? Given that the mayans had jaguar shaped altars I think they procured that through possessing them, and i suppose the brick and vase could have been used to release the energy

when harry and susan look through the records the items include a dagger, a sword, a brick and a vase. assuming that the dagger is the one big red used than where were the other artifacts and what were they used for? When Harry is in the chamber he sees the big altar in the centre, and that alone is enough to impress bob.

I guess in hindsights the grey council removed the metacapacitors that were meant to be used (they find the base that leads to mexico from the records) or tried to remove as much of the evidence as they could (or arrange for the captives to find a way home. The kid got plenty of sleep, though I wonder why she chose that after narrowly escaping the sacrificial blade that claimed her mother and the one the red king and arianna planned to use (the one that susan smashed. arianna never got to use it because Harry killed her before she got her shot). But the reds still left a shitload of corpses behind after the battle. I guess big red and the rest of the really conspicuous ones would have been burned

One: The Red court was planning to perform the ritual between 12:00 and 12:30. The final battle at Chichen Itza was probably about 30 minutes, and Harry and Arianna had their fight at about 12:30 give or take. So why is it almost dawn when they finally leave the site and head back to Chicago? Given that it's october dawn would be around 5:00am or 4:30. Why the hell were they there for hours

DF Reference Collection / Timeline for Changes
« on: July 02, 2011, 11:08:16 PM »
I have decided to calculate a timeline of the events in Changes.

Day 1:

1:00 PM: Harry recieves call from Susan.

1:00 AM: Susan and Martin arrive

Early morning:

Late Evening: Harry arrested but released

Martin and Susan fall prey to sleep wards

Day 2:

Afternoon: Conduct Raid on Nevada Storehouse

Late evening: Asks sources of info for help.

11:00 PM: Harry meets with Marcone, who secures meeting with Odin

11:30-12:00 PM-AM: Journey to Norway and wait to meet. During this time, Odin may procure information through a spy network (he mentions that he has resources to find things out and if the Fellowship can get spies Odin presumably can as well.

12:00-12:20: Harry recieves information

Morning-Late Morning: Harry makes contact and tells Susan where Ritual is being held

Day 3:

Late Afternoon: First confrontation with the Eebs.

Night: Harry meets Sayna after the Eebs firebomb his house. Gets injured in process

Early morning: Harry makes contact with Uriel then with Queen Mab; becomes the winter knight.

Day 4

2:30: Flees into Nevernear

9:30: Leaves Nevernear

9:31: Lea arrives and picks them up

9:43: arrive at Church

9:56: Leave Church and head to first waypoint

10:12: Arrive at first point:

10:15: Leave

11:45: Touch down in Yucatan

11:53: Arrive at temple complex

11:58 Susan begins recon

12:02: Susan arrives back

12:05: Big battle begins

12:10: Harry challenges Arianna

12:11: Alamaya comes out
12:13: Head to main temple
12:16: Arrives at temple
12:17: Enters the main temple and begins negotiating with the red King
12:19: Deal to have Harry face off with Arianna is solidified, and Harry meets Maggie. Given that the Red King was on the penultimate sacrifice it is safe to assume that Maggie's sacrifice was originally scheduled for 12:21 or 12:22. Because of harry's arrival and the fact that he had as legitimate a claim to collect a blood debt as Arianna (which changed the game entirely), the Red King was forced to push the ritual back in order to ensure that Harry and Arianna can have a clean fight because if he let arianna go ahead he would essentially be guilty of preventing the collection of a blood debt (which benefits him from both a legal standdpoint since a compromise is the one option that will theoretically allow both parties a chance to collect their debts since arianna would only be prevented if harry bested her while harry's debt would be sebtled the moment the dust cleared and the victor won, and a political standpoint since if harry wins he has a powerful political enemy out of his hair hence why he subtly stacks the deck in harry's favor by ensuring that the battle is purely magical power.)
12:28: Harry and Arianna face off
12:33: Harry kills Arianna via impalement, sending her to a well deserved demise and ending her plans for good.
12:34-12:35: Battle begins

1:04-1:05: Harry kills Susan, destroying the Red Court and ending the battle.

12:45-1:00: Harry dies.
