I sent you a PM.  Your e-mail is hidden, so you'll have to PM me with it if you want me to e-mail you instead.  We can talk about my fee later......LOL.

I finally got the go ahead from my professor, who said that the Persian sea commander sounded like a good topic for the project(that or the Jewish funeral meal, but she told me to pick the one that sounded more interesting to me, no offense), so if you are still willing to let me help, I'm ready whenever.  Just let me know and then I'll start contacting you via PM.

Well, I thought here would be the place people would most have research to actually do, but I just posted it on Mac's.  No specific field in mind, just something that would probably interest me.  So probably not anything too hardcore science-y.

I have to hand in my topic for what I'm going to research on October 1st.

Options 2,3, and 4 sound interesting, but I'll have to double-check with the prof first.  1 is probably too shallow for a term project.  And I got 4:41 p.m.

I'm currently enrolled at Rutgers University in a MLIS(Master's in Library and Info Science) program and for one of my classes we have to find someone who needs to find some information and basically help them find whatever they're looking for as a term project.  I couldn't really think of anyone I know personally that needs that kind of help, so I thought this would be a good place to ask(and the professor ok'd it already).  Being a university student, I have access to a lot of databases and resources the average person probably doesn't, so that should be helpful to whoever is looking for something that they're having a hard time finding.

Anyway, please just let me know if I can help.  I haven't really thought of a fair selection process, other than that it has to be something more than some basic statistics or simple facts(as per the professor's instructions).  Obviously, I can only cover one person's needs for this project.  I'll try to come up with a fair way to pick someone when I see how many of you actually need/want my help.  Of course, if Jim happens to see this and actually wants my help, you guys are on your own  :)

Thanks!

NO!!

just playin, bring it on man. I don't mind critiquing it.

However, be sure to spellcheck and re-read for obvious grammar/punctuation first.
Nothing against you, it's just only courteous. And no fanfic, or Finn will shake his fist at you and glower. And that man can glower like nobody's business.

And that's quite a feat over the Internet!

Author Craft / Re: Question on marketablility of location.

I wouldn't worry too much about the marketability of the setting.  IMO, the setting probably won't matter nearly as much for marketability as having an imaginative, well-written story.  As long as you can somewhat accurately describe the city, it should be fine from my perspective.

What I want to know is if there is a similar program for Windows or if the designer is ever going to make a Windows compatible version.

Going off what jtaylor said, it would also depend on how close your character is to the ghoul. If she can get inside his range, she has a much better chance of parrying since the ghoul wouldn't be able to swing the sword fully if he swings it down at her.  The ghoul's intelligence level can be a factor here.  If it has the intelligence of the average ghoul, it might not realize that a sword is not the best weapon to use when someone with a smaller weapon is within the range of your sword.

Author Craft / Re: Making Generic Magic more Appealing

You can't build buildings out of magic alone. You can build metaphysical contructs (enchantments, etc.) out of magic.

*eye_roll* Fire. It is always so easy to do. Well, I haven't settled on how to limit Fire, but here's what I'm thinking: State of mind is important to magic. "Pre-Rituals" are offen necessary to do cast magic. I can't imagine Fire not being an easy spell to cast (energy to energy), but perhaps Fire is limmited to those who have prepared in advance to use it. This preperation would prevent the flame-thrower from casting other spells and affect his sate of mind. (flame-throwers would be prone to rash, passionate decisions while using that type of magic.)

Daylight: Your comments were helpful. I'm Comming up with some ideas for the magic, and the world around it.

Going off what you said, maybe the different elements can only be used in certain states of mind or by people with certain personality types.  Like you said, fire could only be cast in a passionate frame of mind or by a hot-headed, zealous person.  Earth when you're feeling stubborn or inflexible, or by a person who tends to be stubborn, but is someone you can always rely on.  Etc, etc.

I found the book in the Barnes & Noble in Salem, NH and I was tempted to buy it, just because I like Jim's style. The only thing that stopped me was a shortage of cash, though the fact that I'm not a huge fan of the Marvel-verse was a contributing factor, just not a huge one.

There's always the library.

Definitely going if I'm still living here then.  I currently live in Blaine, but might be moving out-of-state soon.
