Post by: ClintACK on July 27, 2020, 09:21:36 PM
Do we have a first line for Battle Ground yet?

I'm really hoping for "I was having what was shaping up to be a very bad day."

My brother ruined a perfectly good evening by almost dying.

"I'm pregnant.", Karen said, as the doors closed on the Munstermobile.

"She's not pregnant," Grey said.

The river was on fire, and it wasn't my fault.

There's something preternaturally spooky about being on a boat in the middle of the lake on a dark, quiet night. The spooky factor ramps up considerably when you get to the harbor and the whole city is just as dark and quiet.

“How am I going to get around in this” I told Karrin gesturing at the dark city
“Last time something like this occurred I had Sue to ride around on”. Then I sneezed.

Thread winner.

There must be some good narrative reason for the bloody conjouritis, we know he can sneeze living things into existence from the spiders, so why not Sue whom he brought forth once before?. It gives a call back with a purpose and explains the stupidity of the disease, it only exists to bring back Sue.

Who knows, a bit of soulfire and Sue might be a permanent attraction next time Harry takes Maggie to the Zoo, she asked Harry in Zoo Day whether he liked dinosaurs.

Harry is going to need a larger hankie.

Another Tuesday, and still no first line, no teaser chapters.

Then again, with only 9 weeks (63 days (1,502 hours, but who's counting?)) until the next full book, I guess we don't really need those.

Unless the first chapter is so massively spoilery of the entire book, that they can’t release it.

The last of Jim’s Q & A is coming up, so I wouldn’t have expected anything today in that event, however, he could have compensated us with something else, say a nice picture of Bru and Felix to deflect us.
