Title: Drama for Mister?
Post by: KurtinStGeorge on October 01, 2017, 02:50:23 AM
So Jim said we can expect some drama for Mister as we near the end of the series.  (At Salt Lake Comic Con last week.)  Speculate what that might mean for Mister and Harry.

Or Mister makes his Choice to be more than he already is similar to in Summer Knight?

Sadly, I think it will be Mister's passing from mortality and his return to being TWG.

I kinda see him getting an epic death scene, where by himself he takes down a bunch of monsters.

"We haven't really run into anything that could kill Mister at this point."

Note that Mr Sunshine had made his appearance by the point that Jim said this.

So in terms of 'Power Levels' Mister>Casual Galaxy Busters

Unless the Prince of Darkness himself shows up for a throw-down, I don't know of any monsters that can actually stop our Feline Overlord.

We know the prince of darkness is nothing compared to the white god who is MSTR

I think this means that Harry returns from the inevitable time travel book with a dinosaur egg.  He naturally gives this egg to Maggie so she can train the baby dino up as her very own steed; which she will ride into battle during the BAT.  Unfortunately, Jim's comments seem to indicate that Mouse and Maggie's new dino steed don't get along.  Mouse inevitably will have to use his powers as The White God to smite the creature after it tries to eat him for the umpteenth time. ;D

Harry gets confused when Mister behaves the same way with Mab as he does with Murphy...  Mister is like when can this façade end.

Maybe Mister gets neutered.

Because he's just a cat, after all.

MSTR is fully cat and fully white god, it is the mistery of the holy duality.

I'm not sure you know what the word "Just" means.

You do not understand the mistery. That is ok, you are not supposed to understand it, just study it and get to deeper insights.

Can someone point me to the OP / evidence for Mister = TWG?  I see it everywhere, and I want to believe.

I so want this.  But I don't think JB would go with the idea that Harry never once took Mister to the vet.

Basically you have the following options:

Quote
WG: How powerful is the White God:?

WG+++: The White God is Mister.

WG++: The White God is the the supreme being.

WG+: The White God is the creator of the world and a qualitative level above the other netherworld "gods" in terms of power.  There are however other beings (outsiders?) on his level.

WG: The White God is no more than the most powerful of the gods in the Dresdenverse (currently).  His power stems directly from the belief of his millions of followers.  Angels support free will because that is what people believe the white god does.

WG-: The White is not as powerful as he would like us to believe (on the order of Mab, Dragons).  The whole "free will" story is a cover and an excuse not to intervene directly.  Otherwise people would realize how weak he really is.

WG--: Archangels exist, but God does not.  When Mab refers to the "White God", she is not referring to a single entity, but combined power of the Archangels.

WG--: The white God does not exist.  All of the Harry Dresden's encounters with Jake are hallucinations created by Mab.

!WG: There is no God but Jim Butcher, and Priscellie is his prophet(ess)

There is none, it's just that lack of evidence is no reason for someone not to believe something with an outrageous level of fervor.

Wow dude, just relax m'kay? I think it's pretty obvious that nobody actually buys into that theory, so let us have our fun.

Cripes, I've seen far more bizarre/dumb theories around here, and nobody ragged on those like this.

It's all in good sport.

I wouldn't go that far....  I don't think he's TWG, but possibly a Malk.

This shit right here, this is why I won't "just relax."  Because people are so insufferably smug about this kind of crap.  That if you don't buy into the idiocy, you've got something wrong.  It's not enough that "lol, it's a funny thing!"  EVERYONE has to buy it!  No exceptions!  No wrongthink!

Invite a cat into your home and by his purr you will be saved.

While I respect your views on organized religion, this is neither the time nor place to discuss it.

Mister is against organised religion. All cats are. Remember he made cats to his image, not some herd animal.

You don't have to buy into the idiocy but sometimes it feels good to rent some.

If you don't like the beer on tap and the songs that we sing then find another bar. We are here to talk, laugh, and support each others ideas and delusions. Please don't ruin the beer buzz with logic.

Mister being behind everything that happens in the Dresdenverse is one of those deeply buried WAGs.   That said, there are a number of clues that hint at something more:

1) The aforementioned WoJ:    "We haven't really run into anything that could kill Mister at this point." (spoken after Small Favor so includes a number of nasties).

2) When Harry looks at things with his Sight, everything gets colored -- even pure vanilla Murphy (GP) and "the city of Chicago" (TC) show various hues of colors as energies.   The only time Harry describes seeing something exactly the same while looking at it under the Sight is Mister.

3) Of the three beings who have used Little Chicago onscreen (Harry, Bob, Mister), two of them profess to not know who fixed the model.   Occam's Razor leaves the obvious candidate.

4) Before Harry gets Mouse, there are a number of incidents where Mister "coincidentally" saves the day (e.g. he breaks up the first Harry/Susan kiss in Death Masks where Harry was about to fall under the narcotic spell).   Afterwards, Mister just lets his minion (Mouse) deal with those issues.

5) The obvious deference that Mouse and the Za-guard (and Ivy?) show Mister.

--->  Clearly, Mister is more than meets the eye.    ;D ;D

But more important is revelation aquired by contemplation. Allow a cat in your house and let yourself be guided by its presence. Study it while it rests as only cats can do and meditate. Let yourself be filled with the essence of cat and transcend.

You will be perfectly confortable in your body as only a cat can be and in that confort you can rise out of it and in that spiritual world misteries will be revealed.

And once that truth is revealed you must share it because otherwise only falsehoods will remain. The truth about MSTR has to be revealed but above all lies about the cat who is god have to be addressed.

I'd vote for either Mister's demise (sad day), or kittens.

I'm leaning toward kittens, because as anyone who has children knows, children bring all kinds of drama.  And Drama does not mean death.  But that cannot be ruled out.

Another possibility is that when Harry comes back from the Mirror Mirror universe, it doesn't quite stick the landing and actually comes back to one where Mister is named Miss.  Small change, but big drama.

One other possibility is that Mister decides he doesn't want to live with Harry. He likes Karrin better.  Again, big drama.
