Calendar Event Discussion / Re: April 14: TC signing in Lexington, KY
« on: April 01, 2009, 10:36:28 PM »
I'm hoping to get the entire day off so I don't have to rush like crazy from work - but we've been short on first shift and the Captain's office hasn't been approving many comp time requests.   I'll have to see if puppy dog eyes and quivering lips might work there.   ;D

If I can't get the day off, I'll probably hop in the car and drive like a maniac.   Or maybe not like a maniac.  I get off work at 4:15 and Lexington isn't more than 90 minutes away, IIRC.

Jo.

How about something like  "Harry Dresden ... the wizard who puts the Ick in Magic" on the front and "The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher" or something like that on the back.

Although someone might be turned off by the thought of something "icky" and not read the books at all.

Hmm.  Back to the drawing board.

Speaking as a "real woman" who eats meat, I want to beat that skreeling girl to death with a stale hoagie.

If you need some help, I'll be happy to grab the half-loaf of garlic bread that's been in my fridge for longer than I like to think about and join you.  ;D

Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Jim at RT Convention

The dates are April 25-29 . I'm wondering, are there any men going besides authors, agents, and publishers ? Do men admit to being fans of Romance fiction ? Of course if you are an unattached male I suppose your odds of meeting a nice female probably goes way up  ;D

And it also proves to the ladies that you're secure enough of in your own masculinity to go alone to a romance writers' convention.    :D
