Are we missing a Jim-related event? Tell us, by replying to this post, and we'll try to get it added to the calendar if it's appropriate.
Thanks!
-
This is more of a question. I saw on the Romantic Times website for the conference that Jim and Shannon would be there. I didn't see it on this calendar, so I was wondering if they will or won't be attending in April?
Thanks
-
Jim will be making a couple of appearances in the Phoenix area in April.
First is the Arizona Book Festival on Saturday, April 14th, in Phoenix. www.azbookfestival.org
Second is the Poisoned Pen book store in Scottsdale on Sunday at noon. www.poisonedpen.com

It appears that a book signing that I am looking forward to attending is not yet posted in the calendar. It is at Mystery and Imagination, 238 N. Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA on April 6th at 1 p.m. (yes, Good Friday) If you need to verify this the book shop's phone number is 818.545.0206.
-
In case any of y'all use upcoming.org, I added a jimbutcher tag: http://upcoming.org/tag/jimbutcher/
-
Looks like Jim is going to be at Uncle Hugo's (http://"www.unclehugo.com/") in Minneapolis on April 9th... at least, according to their site.
-
I've got a listing for Mysterious Galaxy in San Diego on April 7th.
*hops all of these dates are true*
-
Minneapolis to San Diego in 2 days? Man try to get some sleep on the flight, it looks like you wont be getting much else.
-
Jim's events are a wee bit north and west of me - alas, southern girl. Any chance we might see him at Dragon*Con in Atlanta this year?
-
New Event Added -- Online!
Hi All,
I usually let the officials on a website deal with this kind of news post -- undoubtedly of which some of you will call spam but has very good intentions for some -- but due to the shortened ordering period it must go up now for all to see.
My name is Shawn and I am the owner of The Signed Page (http://www.signedpage.com), a website devoted to bringing signed or personalized books to those fans who can't meet with their favorite writers. A writer can only tour so many cities -- as some of you noticed when Jim's tour was posted -- leaving many fans the inability to get a signed or personalized book for cover price. The Signed Page helps bridge that gap a bit.
This morning, Jim's publicist contacted me about having him sign for The Signed Page. The good news is Jim will sign and personalize copies of White Night; the bad news is he will be doing so in 8 days on April 3rd, which is far too short a time to effectively publicize this to all fans who might be interested. At any rate, we are going to do the best we can to give Jim something to do while he is here in Seattle. Smiley
In short, spread the word about this to anyone you think would take advantage of it.
Feel free to visit the website at http://www.signedpage.com (http://www.signedpage.com). Many questions can be answered there but I'll respond via email as soon as possible too to any questions posed.
Hope you all are great!
Shawn

Agreed Nancy!! Last year I went to DragonCon solely to meet Jim. It was my first time at a convention and made our plans at the very last minute to drive up to Atlanta from Tampa, Florida once my hubby and I found out that Jim was going to appear!
I would love to see him there again this year so that I am able to attend his panel. Last year we had to leave early due to obligations, but at least I got a picture of Jim with my hubby :)
-
Ditto on Dragon*Con. I'm new to the book series and didn't get the opportunity to attend any related panels in 2006.
I'm also looking to see if anyone here is interested or willing to run a fan table in the Marriott mezzanine. I'd do it, but I'm already committed to another fan group. Fan tables are free, BTW. But if someone were interested, I'm more than willing to offer my experience, skills and resources to the endeavor. I've been organizing and running them for various groups for the past 4 years.
-
jim will be with our special guest at www.PhauxCon.com (http://www.PhauxCon.com) in philadelphia this october. :)
we're still putting the program together.
-
Yup! There's a post here (http://www.jim-butcher.com/bb/index.php/topic,1339.0.html) reserved for PhauxCon info, whenever you're ready to make the announcement.

ah, cool. missed that. :)
should be very soon. thanks!

I was wondering if someone could get me some verification. On the frapper map it says that there will be a book signing in Calgary Alberta, does anyone know if this is true and if so when it will be taking place??
-
How far in advance do events generally get posted to this board? I was at Mobicon last weekend and unless my eyes deceived me, the program said Jim was going to be a guest next year. Is he definitely signed on to do this?
-
Now I really WISH that Jim would show up at Dragon Con. James Marsters is scheduled to show up at the con this year. Do you know how "kick butt" that would be if there were a panel with Jim discussing the Dresden Files books and show and that James would read some excerpts from the book and talk about the process!
*Begs!!*
Love ya always!
-
Just curious as to when the White Night will be published into paperback? Is there any possibility of visiting the Western New York area for a signing, Not sure I can handle the drive to Philly? We never seem to get any of the more creative authors :(
-
Hey, the map pins show a yellow dot for signing in Des Moines? Did I miss something?? If he's coming he'd better bring Shannon too! Apparently all the IA people are too shy to sign up! Time to brow beat some friends I think!
-
Uh. No one told me about it.

I don't know what pins you're talking about! Man, no one tells me anything! :)
Jim
-
Um, Jim? We didn't want to tell you this, but we cloned you for travel purposes. We've nicknamed him Jamison, and managed to engineer the motion sickness out of him. He'll take care of your appearances when you have to fly.
Unfortunately, there were side effects in making him non-dramanine-able, and, well...look, ignore that really large bar tab he rang up with Bob Asprin and John Steakley, ok? We'll work on fixing that.
-
Wow. Hey Mickey, once you're done with Jamison, can I keep him as a pet? I can teach him Warcraft and we could try take over Blizzard company. Later, I also wanna sell him on eBay, under Jim Butcher. Please? ;D
-
You would sell Jameson on eBay? *gasp*
Do you accept PayPal?
(And wow, this explains "Jim's" peculiar behaviour when I met him at NYCC. I *knew* Marcone's favourite color wasn't really polka-dot!)
-
I don't know what pins you're talking about! Man, no one tells me anything! :)
Jim
The pins are closely related to the whistles.
-
I received an announcement from Polaris (formerly Toronto Trek) that Jim will be an author guest of honour at the 2008 con from July 11 - 13 2008.
This is the blurb:
Polaris 22 is pleased to announce our first Author
Guest or Honour:
Jim Butcher is the New York Times Best Selling author
of "The Dresden Files" novels, telling the story of
wizard Harry Dresden, who solves crimes in modern-day
Chicago. The series has spawned nine novels, the
tenth, "Small Favor", coming in April, and a recent
television series.
Butcher's other fantasy series is the "Codex Alera"
novels, the latest, "Captain's Fury", is due to be
published in December. He has also written a
Spider-Man novel, "The Darkest Hours".
Unfortunately I may have to be in North Carolina! Arghhhh!
-
I haven't seen any indication of any signings for Captain's Fury. Is there a Signed Page one in the works?
FYI, The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale had Jim listed for a signing in April (but now that they revamped their website, it is no longer listed).
Lee Whiteside
-
I'll have to double-check with Shannon, but I was under the impression that Jim will not be doing any signings for Captain's Fury, due to massive deadline pressure.
-
Anyone got any scoop on Jim Butcher being announced as a guest speaker at MileHiCon.08? Anyone know any details or attend last years which was held in Denver? It's not until Oct, I think and the announcement said it was confirmed Oct 29th? Thanks for any info!
edited--typed dec in error. xmas must have been on my mind!
-
Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale has Jim listed as signing April 6th for Small Favor. Whoopeee, time to visit mom in scottsdale. Maybe he'll have t-shirts with his book tour dates available. ;D
-
Also, Jim will be signing copies of Small Favor via The Signed Page on April 1st at http://www.signedpage.com (http://www.signedpage.com) for those of you who can't meet him on tour. Cheers!
-
Thank you for the heads up, Ard. I'd never seen that site before. It would be an inexpensive option although I was looking forward to the great weather in the valley at that time. I visit Mom in Feb or Mar every year, but miss out on the desert in strong bloom and would have liked a visit in April. *pouting in the heartland*

I'm curious -- Madicon (http://madicon.org/guests.shtml)(a con I'm planning on attending) has Jim listed as their Author guest from March 7-9, 2008, but it's not on the calendar. Will he be there, or did the con staff mess up somewhere?

Yup, Jim will be attending! I'll post the full list of Jim's 2008 convention appearances in the next few days.

I would love to see a signing here in Columbia, MO. Maybe at the Univ of MO bookstore or the local B&N.
-
I checked out the calendar....is there any chance that Jim will be in the Atlanta area anytime this year?

Well, seeing as Jim and Shannon are gonna be in my town of 1,300 right at dinner time, who's up for barbecue? ;D
-
Jim is scheduled to do a signing this coming Saturday, August 9, from 2-4 PM at the Borders Express bookstore in the Independence Center Mall, Independence, MO. My wife (the store manager) talked to Shannon today and is setting up a separate signing for her later in the year.

Probably not an official event, but today is the Jimnal Equinox! It's been 2 months, 6 days since Princeps' Fury was released, and it's 2 months, 6 days until Turn Coat will be released.
-
Just wondering if Jim Butcher will be doing any signings in Toronto? Possibly FANEXPO 2009 (Anime / Sci-Fi / Horror /Comic / Gaming Expo) It runs Aug 28th-Aug 30th this year. The site is www.hobbystar.com. If not FANEXPO 2009 then anywhere else would be awesome regardless I just thought I would suggest something up his alley. Thanks.
-
I'm curious, does Jim ever make it out to the East Coast?
-

Is Duckon (June 12-14) confirmed as it's not on the Calendar and not much on the board? Thanks

Wow, my mistake! Duckon is indeed a confirmed event--I just neglected to add it to the calendar. I'll fix that now! Thanks for pointing it out.
-
what? no way? the Goddess is mistaken. Surely her unworthy troll failed to make the post!
You's still the best!

Are you asking if I'm going? I'm prolly going to be there.

Yes. :-) see you there.

This probably sounds stupid, since it's not on the calendar, but is Jim doing any signings for "Side Jobs?" If so, are any going to be in KC?
Thanks!

None have been announced, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does a KC signing. He definitely won't be doing a full signing tour.
-
What about the virutal signing folks? Any signed copies going to be available? Wait, I'll be in Tuscon.... :-)
-
I'm not sure if this qualifies as an event, but here goes ... What is the schedule for releasing chapters of Ghost Story?
I vaguely remember reading a schedule in a post (maybe by Priscellie?) but in browsing this evening I haven't been able to locate a schedule/dates.
Thanks!

He will not. He did D*C last year, and he tends not to do the big cons two years in a row.
