Many of these questions pertain to the most current situations, i.e. after you have read Ghost Story. If you have not and don't even want a CHANCE at knowing any information do not read further!! However if you have read GS, please continue!

1. Rich is one. Can't remember the other.

3. Only two I think. His blasting rod gets broken and lost more often.

5. A Glock and a P90 with silencers. I think.
6. Six.
7. A James Dean outfit.
8. Four. They were quadrants.
9. Deirdre.
10. Rock'em Sock'em Robots in It's My Birthday Too.
11. A love potion. Tequila base, with a $50 bill, dark chocolate, cologne, a love song, a flower, silk, a love letter (or poem). I've probably gotten this one wrong.
12. Ronald Reull.
13. Longsword.
14. Earth.
15. Romance books, Victoria's secrets catalogue, Justine's bow.

Not thaaat much.  I mean, she isnt exactly a deep character for the most part.  I dont think "over-the-top Kinktress" would require an Oscar performance

It still requires more than she can do. I went to see Snow White and the Huntsman, Stewart brought the whole thing down.

DFRPG / Re: Hob Changeling

A simple way for your character to come into being: the same way Meryl did. Don't the Fae quickly restore numbers through changelings? Even get more prestige from things their offspring do? If regular Hobs don't do this the elder ones might. Maybe even the Eldest Hob.

In gameplay I'd suggest looking at the stunt the Hobs have, it could be useful depending on how you want to play.

As for aspects if I get a chance to play I'll be taking "Angry Bastard" as my trouble. He'll flip out at so much as a mention of his father, because he knows what the Hob did to his mother. Just in case you haven't thought of all yours.

I think the Myrk is outlined as a power in Our World. I'm not sure as I only got the books for Christmas and peaked at it because I too want to make a Hob changeling. If I ever find people to play with.

Eva Green for Lara?

Also, Rachel Mcadams could be the Faerie ladies:

Ok forget I said Anne Hathaway and let's go for Eva Green instead. Inspired choice!

Not sure if anyone has suggested this (I am not reading through the entire thread) but give Nathan Fillion a beard and I think he'd be a perfect Michael. Just throwing it out there.

Also Anne Hathaway as Lara and Bob Hoskins as Eb.

Ill have to dig.. its not something I ran into myself, there was a thread by another poster a while back that went into all the various myths about the leanasidhe.  ;D

Ah. Well all I've been able to find is the idea of her being a muse in exchange for their love. Though according to WB Yeats if a mortal refused her love she had to be their slave. If not they became hers and either died or found someone to take their place.

8
its in the mythology.  ;D

Jim Butcher- only modern fantasy author that requires homework lol   ;D

I have been unable to find any source that links the Leanansidhe to the lady of the lake.

9
mmm the leanansidhe may very well be the lady of the lake, its one of her old names. :)

in the real world, its because legends and stories tend to change. in the Jim verse, its probably a mantle thing.

Where does it say that? Is it a WoJ? Because I don't remember anything in the books concerning Lea's other names.

Cool theory. One nit to pick--I dont think Mavra attacked Harry and Thomas for no reason. I think she was gunning for *Thomas*. During the first attack Harry hadnt even been officially hired. Then at the party, when she learns of the attack, Justine says something like, 'I thought you didnt have to worry about Mavra'. Then, during the attack outside the movie studio, the MavraPuppet talks about Thomas as 'the one who betrayed us.' I think your idea she was out to get Harry here is incorrect, but its really a side note to a really interesting theory. And I keep finding a bunch of Round Table references lately as I'm rereading the books...its kinda funny, if you're right, that Morgana/Mavra traded her own knife to the Leanansidhe/Lady of the Lake. Didnt excalibur come from her? So they swapped their own weapons?

The Leanansidhe isn't the Lady of the Lake, she's a muse. She inspires poets and artists and the like in return for love and devotion and then they go mad. Or die. Probably both.

DF Reference Collection / Re: [CD spoilers] Cowl = Simon reference thread
« on: December 13, 2012, 10:46:22 PM »
I like the idea of this. It'd be a massive blow to several on the SC if it turned out to be Simon, leaving Harry to deal with him. I think it'd be really cool to see Eb, LTW and Martha Liberty seize up because they realise their old friend had been playing them, with Harry wondering how he's going to take on someone who survived being clocked in the head during the Darkhallow ritual.

On the note of various X=Y theories, are there any threads for Harry = Future Gatekeeper (Taking over once Rashid packs it in). It seems as if he's being groomed for the roll.

CD Book Club / Re: Cold Days Book Club - Chapters 45-53 **MAJOR SPOILERS**
« on: December 13, 2012, 03:38:51 PM »
Ok, I finally got the book yesterday. It took so long because Easons (the major bookstore in Ireland) said it would be two weeks after the release date that they would have it in stock. So I ordered it online, which should've taken a week. What followed was two weeks of nothing before I could finally cancel the order and buy it in the bookstore. It was annoying. But now I've read it and I wanted to post my thoughts before I read through this entire thread, which I'm sure is full of theories I haven't even begun to think of:

Holy (insert every single expletive you can think of) that was AWESOME! Before reading Cold Days my favourite book was either Death Masks, Small Favour or Changes. Cold Days blew them all out of the water! It was brilliant. And full to the brim of stuff I'd never even guessed at:

-Demonreach's Purpose. How epic is it that Harry is Warden to the most dangerous prison ever?
-The Outer Gates. I always imagined them to be some sort of seal an Outsider could only slip through with the help of a mortal. Not the site of a freaking giant eternal battle.
-Maeve actually having ambition. Of a sort.
-And Molly. Oh man, that's a harsh deal. I really don't want to see her turn into Maeve. But I hope we see how that Svartelf deal happened.

On the other hand I knew Odin had to have something to do with Kringle once he was introduced. That's where the whole myth started after all.

And Harry was awesome. On so many levels. Admittedly he seemed to lose the ability to think things through with the return of his glands but hey, that's Harry. Kicking ass all day long... when he's not getting his own ass kicked. Him taking on Sharkface was fantastic. And now he's on Demonreach full time, where he's at his most powerful. He'll have plenty of time to remake his foci and figure out his duties as the Warden. The next book is going to be very interesting.
