DF Spoilers / Re: Theory - Cowl is the original Merlin

there are wizards with shapechanging powers.  presumably some of the ones that are good at that could maybe get good at healing and life-extension too.

Harry describes himself as a "thug" early on.
Presumably the stay-at-home wizards are much better at all kinds of wards, enchantments, illusions, veils, shape changing, astral projection, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, thaumaturgy, shapechanging, whatever.
although gold is a completely differently element than lead, precious stones like diamonds and emeralds are just common elements arranged a certain way.  maybe they can do that with magic. transmutation.

both Lloyd Slate and Fix did not seem to be wizards.
So they could probably not do as much with the mantles as a wizard or sorcerer can.

If there is a white court group that feeds on laughter, would most of them work as stand up comedians?

presumably, they can find a few gold nuggets or diamonds or whatever without having to sift through 50,000 tons of rock first

DF Spoilers / Re: Harry's lack of research
« on: November 10, 2018, 09:11:07 AM »
each book normally takes place over the course of a few days.  In order for there to be suspense and mystery, Harry has to learn or discover new things over the course of the story.  Presumably, he learns some stuff in between books and occasionally mentions it.

DF Spoilers / heat vs fire
« on: November 03, 2018, 06:58:21 AM »
a heat blast would be a blast of energy that super-heats everything it comes in contact with.
A fire blast would be a blast of fire, like from a torch. gas from the torch combusting with oxygen.

if there were a branch of white court that fed on good emotions, like comedy, and they were stand up comedians and clowns, would they be good guys?

DF Books / Sir Butters

I can only picture Butters as a very temporary knight. Hopefully he hands the sword off to someone tough before he gets murdered.

they should all be wizards or scions that are hundreds of years old.

John Corbett as Harry, if he were 20 years younger.

does the daddy have to be a vanilla mortal?  some supernatural race could corrupt the purpose of it.

DF Books / Re: Magical Tattoos
« on: August 31, 2018, 08:00:18 AM »
the tattoos are used as a focus, like the stuff the wizards carve into their wands and staffs and belt buckles.  like a mold for clay or molten metal.  the wizard or sorcerers magic is the clay or molten metal.
or a simple electronic device: the wizards magic is the electricity.

Michael has a lot of kids.  At least one or two more probably have some magic ability.

DF Spoilers / Re: Salic Law and Harry's Understanding of Magic Genetics
« on: August 31, 2018, 07:51:04 AM »
The books indicate Harry's magic kicked in a lot younger for him than most humans.

Some of the White Court and Red Court are pretty good at magic beyond the usual vampire powers.  By default they already have some degree of psychic/mind magic.
