DFRPG / How many people drained for a BCV to be fully functional?
« on: December 12, 2011, 01:59:00 PM »
So last game the PCs managed to inflict every last consequence on the big bad Master Black Court Vampire before it got away, including Extreme (it lost it's left arm to a blowtorch for that one).  All by the book too, had quite a few die rolls gone differently the BCV either would have been destroyed, or one of the PCs could have died.

Anyway, my question is, roughly how many people will this BCV have to completely drain to be fully healed?  By the rules only the minor consequence can be, but I think that is both lame and doesn't fit with how things work in canon.  Also, do you think the extreme consequence should be fixable with enough blood?  I can see arguments both ways.

DFRPG / High speed crashes
« on: November 13, 2011, 03:07:48 AM »
How much damage would a head on colision do, with both cars moving fast?  Would the drive roll be an all or nothing thing, or would it lower the damage by some amount?

I'm thinking of a situation where a BCV will have a Renfield jump the yellow line while the PCs are driving to make an ambush easier.

DFRPG / Should I track Hunger for NPCs?
« on: November 10, 2011, 02:59:48 AM »
So I have a BCV running around, and if he gets into a scuffle with the PCs I see him using his powers a lot.  He also isn't shy about killing by feeding.

So should I bother tracking feeding stress, or should I just have the BCV kill someone after any significant usage of powers?

DFRPG / Embassies and Thresholds
« on: November 09, 2011, 03:00:33 AM »
So I was just at the Japanese Embassy here in Ottawa, which is basically in the "Embassy District" of town, and I was thinking about thresholds, and how I could see an embassy providing one.  What are your thoughts on this?

DFRPG / Convincing someone of the truth
« on: October 30, 2011, 02:55:06 AM »
So, next game the PCs are going to try to convince an NPC who's very skeptical of what they'll be saying of something.  How do I handle that mechanically?  Lying to someone is easy to handle, but I'm not sure how to handle it being the truth.  Plus they also will have to convince the NPC not only that they believe it is the truth, but that it actually is.

DFRPG / The Accords and the Black Court
« on: October 29, 2011, 03:06:59 PM »
So I'm going to be having a Master Black Court Vampire doing some things that would be violating the Accords.  Thing is, the Black Court doesn't seem to have enough of an internal structure to enforce consequences on it's own members, so what reason would this vampire have to care about them at all?

DFRPG / How long until a BCV is obviously not alive?
« on: October 28, 2011, 09:38:26 PM »
How long would it be after being turned that a Black Court Vampire could pretend to not be supernatural/dead when having a long in person conversation with some not-clued-in police detectives?

DFRPG / Determining difficulties for Sight roles
« on: October 26, 2011, 12:15:16 AM »
Does anyone have any guidelines for determining difficulties when using The Sight?  I always feel like I'm pulling these out of my ass, and I really don't know what is appropriate most of the time.

DFRPG / The math of shifting skill defaults
« on: October 22, 2011, 02:33:55 PM »
So the PCs in my game have hit another major milestone (or is that significant?  Whichever one gives a bonus to refresh.). The PCs are running out of relevant skills to take, so I said I would up the skill cap to +6, and change the default to +1 instead of 0.  I thought that giving any PC with 6 skills at +1 an extra skill point would all the change that would be needed, since no one has less than 5 skills at +1, but now I'm not so sure.  And even if it is how do I calculate the new "skill points spent" if someone makes a new PC?

DFRPG / Statting Gregori Cristos
« on: September 22, 2011, 09:44:07 PM »
So I want to use him in the game as a mentor for one of the PCs, but I have no idea of how to stat him besides "good at social stuff, not quite Senior Council power level".  Any suggestions?

DFRPG / a question on the Black Council
« on: September 22, 2011, 12:22:05 AM »
What's the name of the Black Council member who got on the Senior Council, and what do we know about him that would be relevant to giving him game stats?

DFRPG / Taking yourself out
« on: September 20, 2011, 04:20:55 PM »
So if you're playing a Mage, and you inflict enough mental (or physical if it's backlash) stress on yourself to be Taken Out, who narrates what happens?

DFRPG / Joining the White Council
« on: September 18, 2011, 12:11:34 AM »
So the PC Sorcerer this past game ended up having to show in front of the warden Ramirez that she has mastered at least two elements with Evocation, and also used said Evocation to do most of the heavy hitting to take out a Denarian.  He then soul gazed her.

So now she's going to end up joining the White Council.  I know who she's going to be apprentaced under.  I also told the player that someone will be coming from the White Council to assess her capabilities.  How do you see this playing out?

DFRPG / Using Diaspora's social combat rules
« on: September 08, 2011, 08:52:58 PM »
So another FATE game Diaspora has some social combat rules that have come highly recommended to me.  I'm thinking of adapting them for my game.  Has anyone else done so?

You can read the rules in the Diaspora SRD here: http://www.vsca.ca/Diaspora/diaspora-srd.html#social-combat

DFRPG / Wards on the bad guy's home
« on: September 07, 2011, 06:31:50 PM »
So the PCs are probably going to be storming the bad guy's home.  Said bad guy is a wizard.  How powerful should I make the wards be?  Just off the base complexity would be too weak I think, but I'm not sure how far to go in terms of additional aspects/declarations/etc.
