Title: The blood of Immortals
Post by: RobReece on October 27, 2017, 07:06:23 PM
Harry has mentioned the power of peoples blood, I was wondering if Demonreach acquired any benefit from the Immortals blood that was spilled on it.  I know that the Ladies Mantles went to Molly and Sarissa, but like Harry is more than just the Winter Knight Mantle, wouldn't there have been more to Maeve and Lilly than just their mantles?

Just a curious thought.

Or alternatively, is that spilled blood available to Harry.   I am certain Harry would gain great power over an immortal if he has that immortal's blood to play with.

but these immortals are dead... not much for Harry to have power over them now.

Good point. I suppose the ability to tap into blood power dies when the owner of the blood dies.

I always wondered if demonreach could be used to strike to those linked to the inmates via blood or magic. Using them as a focus point. We know skinwalkers are in there, so able to target their apprentices and scions.

Possible, but maybe not the best way to go about it. :-\

I don't believe DR is set up to use blood to power anything, like the stone table.  Just not his power source.

The beings that are imprioned, often have servants, followers or other entourages. It would not just be enough to defend against them, they need offensive capability as well.

I think there is no doubt that Maeve, and Lily dying there will leave..... something behind.

It did GK .... who corpses.

I know that sounds flippant, but it's true.  All of their metaphysical weight went with the Mantles.

Harry has samples of Molly's hair and stuff from his days of training her.  Sarissa no doubt bled on the island as did molly - as did Maeve and Lilly.

So if the island was keeping samples, they have enough samples no matter how you run things to have some power of the Summer and Winter Ladies.

Not sure demonreach did though - it is not its purpose.

And the ladies are too weak as imortals run to have much impact on demonreach.  That island was meant to contain far stronger gods than the ladies.

Didn't someone say in the books that the stone table was specifically created to funnel power between the courts through the spilling of blood? I do not think that is the islands purpose. A lot of beings were killed there during the events of turncoat and no mention was made of any type of power-up.

The stone table's function is to funnel power.  Not necessarily from one court to another.

And I agree, it's not the islands purpose.  We know the Island's purpose.

I wouldn't be surprised if the island is specifically insulated against such contamination. If power can bleed in, there is an opening that can be widened.

And a prison that is wide open is no prison.

Kind of makes me wonder if DR could hold Nemesis.  It IS made hold supernatural baddies.  I wonder how that would work.

I have doubts about DR containing Nemesis due to its less than tangible nature; DR may become infected, then big trouble.

Unless someone is Nemfected and imprisoned.

Makes one wonder if Nemesis can leave someone.
