Title: Amusing Rotes
Post by: UmbraLux on July 12, 2011, 12:07:40 PM
Defenestration (Mostly for amusement, but...)

Declaration:  There's a window behind him!

Air evocation:Result - about 14 (minus athletics) shifts of damage from being thrown through a window and falling.

What other amusing methods of causing mayhem have you considered?

We've got an illusionist (manipulates light and sound, not minds).  He has a mental special attack rote:

Terrible Floor Show:
Power 3, Control 7 (requires Harmonica focus item)
Effect: A pyrotechnic and musical display in front of the target makes it difficult to concentrate.  The music is slightly off beat and the lighting moves to an entirely different tune all together.
Epic Weapon 0 mental attack, if successful target must roll Discipline vs. Good or receive temporary aspect "Distracted."

Oblivion Gate
Power 10
Effect: You open an unstable portal to the deepest and darkest places of the Never Never.
Weapons 8 attack on everyone in the zone as the true dark of the never never radiates out of the gate harming all those around it.

Wouldn't you need to actually (if temporarily) put everyone -in- the Nevernever for them to be hurt by it? Otherwise, all that would come out, would turn to ectoplasm...

Only once the gate is closed, unless the caster is expending energy to give it form, like a summoning.
Either way, I don't see it as being an attack unto itself... but it is an awesome aspect to place on a scene for declarations and maneuvers!

Terrible Floor Show
I expected a...different type of floor show for half a second there.  :)

Which brings me to:
Lassitude (Water evocation)

Which brings me to:
Lassitude (Water evocation)
  • 5 shifts of power
  • Discipline roll (call it 5 again)
  • Split targets
  • Applies Relaxed Lassitude to two targets (resisted)
If you are implying what I think you are, Mind control is a big no-no and where would you get corsets and stockings for every one?
