Author Craft / Re: For Christian readers or any interested...
« on: May 02, 2008, 02:15:37 AM »
I am a Christian and have always been disappointed with the scifi/fantasy section in the Christian bookstores. They basically don't exist. You're little blurb up there sounded real interesting. Over on the RPG, Tagnizkur and I have characters  that I may eventually write into a book. Basically, they are imbued with angelic power to battle evil in the world.

Speaking of Tag, please keep him in your prayers. His wife is having pregnancy complications and they might have to deliver their little one early. The baby would be 33weeks and go straight to the NICU. Tag is an incredible man, I hope the Lord strengthens him right now.

But yes, a novel like yours would certainly find an audience.

I am not allowed to quote Shakespeare while around Mab.
a) or Titania
b) or while in the NeverNever
c) or in the proximity of any fae bigger than Toot Toot

I will not answer any more questions from the pizza delivery boys no matter where I'm having it delivered.

I didn't know that they had fan events.  That's really cool.

Husband went through the Stargate line for me like 3 times.  (I was in the Ballroom 20 line.)  Nada.

such a bummer.... my friend and i went through once than ran to the ballroom to get seats, I may have seen you and never known :D

The fan events were brand new last year, so not a lot of people knew about them. It was great though, hope they have them again this year

Comic con *is* the Line Ride.

Last year, they started doing limited signings where you had to draw a ticket to get the right to wait in line to get something signed.  I am a-feared that Jim might be big enough to warrant this.  I mean... Go Jim!

i remember well... i stood in line for an hour or more for stargate tickets and got nothing from the lottery >_<

Jim though, we shall see. :)

At the very least we should organize a Fan thing that they have now. It was new last year and is put on by fan organizations (i'd say the forum counts for sure). Ben Browder and several producers showed up at the stargate one and signed stuff, talked with us, took pics etc. Definitely should look into it!

awesome, thanks for the notes elderbrothergruff!

Indeed - fun standing in line with you as well. I'm definitely going to be there, and it would be great to meet up with some other Dresden fans.

for sure, I'm guessing they'll have a panel with him so we should stake out a section (in the front of course). If there is no panel.... well we seem to be adept at line forming and waiting :P

Excellent. I heard something like that from someone in line, and am very much hoping it's true.

KingPandemic: Mine's black, actually. Awesome shirt though, isn't it? :)

I agree that the t-shirt is awesome :D it was great to stand in line with you!

we should all meet up at Comic-Con, maybe plan it when the times gets nearer?

It was a great signing.  He talked ALOT longer than the other signings I've been at.

Promised Comic-Con, too, which made me squee :D

same here! I jumped in excitement :D

he always gives such great books... by the way, I was the one who asked about Luccio being able to make swords again :) I was also in the group laughing at the excerpts read out of the cliche vampire romance novels :P

just called the Huntington Beach Barnes&Noble, they said:

no restrictions, no tickets, show up, take pictures, bring all your friends... (seriously that's what the guy told me!)

so, it should be a great time!
