I recap mine, whenever they get around to happening.

And I've stolen lots from your thread :)

This reminds me of the Can I Conjure a Sword entry in YS.

So then, using this train of logic as an example... making a magic circle to take out Binder's horde of gray weird-mouthed demon thingies, who are using ecto-suits:

1. I could rule it as a threshold of sorts. How would you rate the strength of said threshold? I ask because even Butters made a magic circle, with no training and only a brief explanation really, so it seems that no real skill is entailed. So, perhaps something seemingly innocuous, like Conviction or Discipline, which everyone has at least a little of, believing that they are actually going to make a circle, and when completed, snaps shut, creating the threshold? Although perhaps Molly started by applying the aspect "slow but steady" on herself, since she had to make it right the first time, and make it big to capture everything?

2. Meanwhile, Dresden, in his own circle to protect him... perhaps again using Conviction or Discipline, made his circle, as a Block against anything trying to get in at him, from the supernatural sect of things?

3. Another possibility, a maneuver (again using Conviction or Discipline perhaps?) put on a zone, that applies the aspect "Magic Threshold" on said zone... then the GM uses the aspect as a mass compel against Binder's thugs, ruling it as an all-or-nothing, they all accept or all are refused, since they are the exact same type and strength, thus all being effected the same... (in the same vein that every human would be effected the same way when exposed to a vacuum, if they don't have the gear to prevent it?) Only problem with this last is, Binder would get a heaping ton of fate points that way.... unless his goons, in this case, each got their own fate point as they faded away, so if Binder ever brought them back...?

I think I'm missing something because I see no need for rules for circles.  Just like in the books when a player draws a circle and throws a bit of will into it, it blocks all magic.  Simple as that, no mess no fuss and the story moves on.

Deadmanwalking made a character who was a Knight of Santa, and was kind enough to share with me.  Here was his take on the magic...

Yuletide Magic [-4 Refresh]

Drawing on the power of the Saint Nicholas, you’re able to cast spells that fit his essential nature: warmth and coldness, charity, protection, travel, and power over secrets. These magics are under the sway and watch of Saint Nicholas himself; making use of it will inevitably catch his notice.

Cost: As normal Sponsored Magic

Effects: Standard Sponsored Magic benefits, including counting as an Evocation element, allowing evocation spell effects that encourage or make use of warmth or coldness, charity, protection, travel, and a power over secrets. In addition, Yuletide Magic may be used to duplicate Conjuration or Warding effects at Evocation speeds and methods, and receives a +1 bonus to Control and Complexity on Conjuration. Yuletide Magic’s Evocations always includes either warmth or cold in some way, depending on the element being use.

One of my players is a very good role-player and before we start a session I give him a general outline of what I have planned for the session.  He uses it IC to make predictions and it works great.  Especially since every time the other players ignore him something really bad happens.  It also makes it easy to get the party together, cause he saw them all in the vision fighting RCV on the street.  I still give him visions but giving him the info ahead of time really lets him shine with the power.

I find looking at the characters aspects and connecting them to why they care for the plot I'm putting in front of them to be the most useful.  I don't immediately point it out to the players, but having it in my pocket helps me move the story along and makes it easier to roll with curveballs the players are throwing my way.

DMW's first two points are my favorites and I use both.

Also be liberal with the compels, it makes the story fun and gives the players much needed resources.

I'm considering bringing in some Sookie Stackhouse elements into mine.  Specifically the Were/Shifter relationships with each other.

Well it's this Saturday and I was considering running some short demos of the game.  Any suggestions out there from anyone who has done similar?  I remember reading that at one point the Evil Hat folks ran some demos when the game was being developed, anyone know if any of that info is available anywhere?
