DF Spoilers / Re: Dabble Interview 23 August 2023
« on: August 24, 2023, 11:55:37 PM »
I just watched the interview and came straight here to see if anyone had caught these "tidbits".

My opinion,  is that it won't be Karen, because of the limitations Odin requires.   The only reason it would happen is the absolute torture Harry would experience with as he prepares for and approaches his wedding to Laura.

I could almost see the conversation...
Karen- I was dead a week? And already you're engaged? Did you have her crawl inside your hospital bed?

As for apprentice,  I think Maggie's too young yet, I'm hoping for Fitz

Maybe that's why the Brit "needs" to be there, he's a host for nemesis?

Well  as for Murphy,  it's easy to say that she'll probably have a big part in Mirror Mirror.   You can imagine our Harry's reaction to seeing her.  And she'll have a completely different set of experiences with Harry,  going all the way back to GP when the split took place, she could loathe him in her universe...

DF Spoilers / Bonnie and the Knights of the Cross, a question
« on: July 05, 2023, 10:06:48 PM »
Something occurred to me and I just wanted to throw it out there...

Bonnie is,  in part at least, a remnant of a fallen Angel.  Will she perceive Sanja, Waldo or even Michael as potential threats? And in her "innocence ", what would she do about it?

DF Spoilers / Re: Harry's summoning circle
« on: May 29, 2023, 03:11:48 PM »
I choose neither.

"Upgraded" leads me to believe that the original circle had been replaced,  he didn't say one was added.
As for being destroyed by the fire or a melting Little Chicago,  a circle was clearly there while Marcone had possession of it after the fire.
The logical conclusion would be that Marcone had it removed when he cleaned his stuff out.  Harry had described his upgraded circle as being pretty high end, maybe Johnny wanted it for his own.

DF Spoilers / Re: Rudy up on charges?
« on: May 29, 2023, 02:42:29 PM »
I don’t think a Denarian has the power to do that due to their constraints but a Fallen Archangel might.

A Denarian fully has that capability.   Look at how Lash manipulated  Harry in Dead Beat, even when he was aware of her, she had him  ready to jump out the window.  No chance that Rudolph  is seeing past any of their illusions.
That being said,  I don't think this was the case.  I don't see anyone possessing Rudy, mind games from the outside, probably.

DF Spoilers / Harry's summoning circle

I'm not sure if I would call these significant discrepancies or not but...

Changes
Quote
I’d upgraded my summoning circle, which was set in the concrete floor at the far end of the little room, a five-foot hoop of braided copper, silver, and iron that had set me back three grand when I ordered it from a svartalf silversmith.

My old copper summoning circle had survived, somehow, at the far end of the room. Maybe the floor of my old living room had collapsed over it, shielding it from the worst of the flames.

And in The Law; part 6 (chapter 8 of the audio book) Harry says he hasn't rebuilt his summoning circle yet.
So which iteration will we see in Twelve Months?

Should the Betas have caught this?

DF Spoilers / Rudy up on charges?
« on: May 24, 2023, 01:16:37 AM »
I don't know if this has been discussed before or not.

Will the lack of Murphy's body be used to keep Rudy from being held accountable for her death?

Bradley wasn't a witness to the shooting,  Butters was, but I don't think he'd carry the same weight as a detective, especially given how he's viewed by his boss.

Secondary question,  does Waldo still work for the Coroner's Office, sorry, the Forensic Institute?

You don't need a body to have a funeral, and you also don't have to have a grave side service.  His friends may not have even known the grave existed.  Yes, Michael and Thomas were both there when Bianca gave Harry the grave stone, but neither may have known that there was actually a dug grave to go with it.  People buy plots all of the time to be buried in in the future, but no actual hole is dug until it is needed.  Also Butters may have used funeral interchangeably with memorial, especially if it is a few friends getting together to remember and there is no actual body. The White Council, that's the wizard's government, which has nothing to do with the city or the state which is vanilla humans.. As far as the vanilla human government goes, Harry would be considered missing and presumed dead, but not officially dead until he had been missing for seven years.

As for the funeral

[quote“Over here,” said a familiar voice. It was later, but not much later. Sometime after noon, maybe? It was hard to tell from the grave. “You’ve never even been here before,” answered another. “I was at the funeral. How the hell would you know where his grave was?” I heard Fitz let out a sigh front-loaded with so much drama that only a teenager could have managed it without hurting himself. “Is it the gaping hole in the ground over there, with the big pentacle on the headstone?” There was a brief, miffed pause, and Butters answered, “Okay. Maybe it is.”   [/quote]

When Butters visited Harry's graveside in GS, he mentions that the funeral had been held there.

As for the government, the WC is the WC, not a government.  I think the quote from Rashid above clearly states that the WC's office would send the forms to the government.

But I understand that a missing person isn't usually declared dead for 7 years. But I think the bullet hole and blood splatter is different from a simple missing persons report.

That was my thought, that until GS, they'd held out hope, once they all saw his ghost and his ghost departed, that hope was gone.  They then had a funeral service,  why didn't they fill his grave then and there?  Why leave it open with his headstone standing there?

The quote above is from Cold Days where it specifically states re-estabishing his identity with the government.

As for the grave, that's exactly what they did at the end of BG.  They filled a coffin and buried it.

Butters states in CD
Quote
“I’m still kind of freaking out that you’re here at all, honestly. I mean, we held your funeral.

Where did they hold his funeral,  if not at his grave,  he didn't say wake or memorial,  he said funeral. Is there another grave for Harry with an empty coffin?

The spot of his last known location was a crime scene, with a large bullet hole and blood splatter(his bloodtype), no sign of life for what, 9 months?
You can call that a "short term disappearance " if you like.

Regardless,  if he weren't 'officially ' dead, there would have been no need to "reestablish " his identity with the government

I think he was officially dead, according to Rashid...
Quote
I will verify your return and that you are indeed yourself, and will see to it that your back pay as one of the Wardens is forwarded to you. There’s some paperwork to fill out to get the Council’s office to reestablish your official identity with the government, but I’ll see to it that it happens. I think I remember all the necessary forms.”

That wouldn't have been necessary if he weren't officially dead.

Rashid said not to use it, as he was years away from being able to use it without being changed...
I'm not saying he could do this today, or do it without being changed,  but thats partly why he'd need to, to be changed.

DF Spoilers / Harry's Darkhallow
« on: May 03, 2023, 07:43:32 PM »
Harry didn't want to do a Darkhallow, because he'd have to kill a bunch of people... what if he performed it on the island consuming the inmates for his rite of ascension?

Assuming that he'd discharged Thomas already...
but the power jump from that...

Yes I know that the Darkhallow consumes spirits,  but if Harry were to engage the Banefire in a controlled manner instead of how the Outsiders would have tripped it in CD, one bonfire and spirits they are...
