DF Books / Comicon Storm Front arrived today!

Looks great!  I only have the first 6 books in Sci-fi BC editions, so I was glad to add this to my collection :)

April 1, 2027 might be a generous release date for Peace Talks, plus we'd then get each of the remaining books every 6 months.  At this rate that could be an improvement on the timing of the series.

Sorry, I just miss the days of a new Dresden Novel every year with a Codex book every other 6 months.

Harry was a good person before, but he couldn't always use it. And he's made morally grey decisions since and still has the soulfire going strong. So I'd assume it needs to be activated by an angelic being, rather than by being good.

Perhaps turning (even just a photocopy of) a fallen angel back toward the light is a bigger deal and made him worthy of soulfire.  This would make Lash instrumental to Harry being able to use soulfire, but it wouldn't be a gift, but something he'd earned.  I like this concept.

At least 25 BSF Susan Rodriguez is born. She's the only one old enough to rent a van in Fool Moon.

I've waded through 19 pages wondering if anyone mentioned Susan's birth.  Kind of important and should at least have a range listed.

Not to change the tack of the conversation but according to this time line Mister is a least 13 (that's how long Harry has had him) and still VERY spry.  Either some of Harry's magic longevity is rubbing off or like Mouse he's no ordinary pet.  Given how Mouse defers to him I wonder what's the deal.  Although the Za Lord Guard say they have to defend the brownies from him so maybe he's normal and important character pet live a long time in DV.

My current cat is around that age but would be taken for a kitten by her size, looks, and actions.  In the past few months she's started to sleep more, but she still plays, hunts (catching birds and the like without her front claws), and runs like she did in her youth.

DF TV Series / Re: POLL: End Game Opinion of the Series
« on: June 22, 2010, 03:53:35 AM »
The Dresden Files was my favorite show on TV and I still have no idea why it was dropped.  Yes, it had some early show jitters. It was too formulaic and lacked a much needed story arc.  Many, many shows start out with these problems though. I loved the humor and the essence that was Harry.  Several years after the show died I finally bought the first three omnibus editions of the series (books 1-7) and fell in love all over again!  I'm glad I saw the show first and then read the books.  I've read the first eleven books over the past 2-3 months and have Changes waiting as my next read.

There are some things I miss from the show, but the humor and Harry's personality are there, and even more so.  I morn the show and can't wait to read the next book!
