Calendar Event Discussion / Re: San Diego 2011 Comic Con
« on: June 24, 2011, 07:04:45 PM »
Tix are now sold out. Thankfullly I was able to get a 4 day pass. Single day passes will go onsale soon - possible over the weekend but likely next week. I am been following @Comic-con on twitter and had twitter text my phone when they post. They posted 1 hour before tix went on sale, so if you want to get a single day, I would do the same.

By the way, once you get into the waiting room, DO NOT REFRESH. If you do, you will go to the end of the line.

They actually sold out the day they wen on sale. I am convinced that many people accidentally over-bought because of the website problems with the online ordering process.

At Dragon*Con there was a Two Book Limit, but I can't speak for the tour signings.

I have rooms, and tickets to the SDCC W00tstock! and The Nerdist Podcast live that will be going on during the con. The new ticketing system this year was an Epic Fail and I was unable to buy tickets even though we were refreshing the damned page all day.

I will be trying to get tickets for the actual con after the refunds are processed, and I think there will be many refunds as I know people accidentally purchased 20 tickets due to the problems with the reg site.

SDCC really needs to find a ticket partner who is able to handle events of this size, because they really dropped the ball this year. It's odd, because there was no problems buying for 2010.

Any news yet on SDCC 2011? I got to see Jim a Dragoncon but more is always better.
And if he does, maybe he could be a surprise guest at W00tstock :)

I was at the Westin, I got a deal though hotwire for $69 a night. We had the Browncoat and Steampunk tracks in our hotel, and everything else was only a block away, so I feel Like we got a good con experience from the hotel without having to deal with the headaches of the main 4 hotels.

Considering the number of hook-ups at DC, I'm surprised there aren't more PIs at the con.

But I'm really happy cuz I got my book signed and got to ask questions about Nicodemus.
That was you? I was right next to the line in the panel. I would love to read the story of Nicodemus Jim described.

I am very happy I got my books signed too, but I was in line for the signing 90 minutes early. It.s a good thing I was.
As a Bonus, I got my copy of Backup signed by both Jim and Mike Mignola.

I just got back from the Con I was going to tweet and post during the con, but we has crap reception in the the hotel and con floor., We were in the Autograph singing and Jim's Panel. I got to meet Jim and Fred briefly at the signing and got to have a longer chat with Shannon and Jim's editor Anne. The panel was awesome, and we got to meet several other fans from the boards, including the group of people dressed as the Za Lord's Guard.

I'm still torn between three great choices for Binder: Mark Sheppard, Tim Roth, and Eddie Izzard would all be excellent in the role.

Site Suggestions & Support / Link Twitter or Facebook to profiles?
« on: August 26, 2010, 01:03:28 AM »
I was looking in the profile settings, and I saw there are links for archaic AIM, YIM, and so on, but no links for current ways of communication like twitter or FB. Can we add a link to these in the profile settings? I wouldn't mind sharing my twitter info here.
