Other noteworthy Evil Hat news was that they're now distributing Diaspora, which is a pretty awesome flavour of FATE aimed at hard sci-fi.
Can't catch one bit... did where did he say the Gatekeeper's domain is? I heard the part about the Moon and Nevernever, but not where his actual citadel is on terra firma.
You get to the Gatekeeper's domain by walking across the surface of the moon.So Rashid can do a shield that keeps air in, and vacuum out. At least for as long as it takes him to get from point A to point B.
Got that straight from Jim. :)

I heard the part about the Moon and Nevernever, but not where his actual citadel is on terra firma.Who says it has to be on terra firma? I'd actually be surprised if the Gatekeeper's domain isn't in the Nevernever, or perhaps someplace even stranger...
Would it also be possible to include a sort of elaboration on some of the content from the Main book? For example, there are a few questions that run around these boards and others concerning Stress and Consequences, Evocation and Thaumaturgy how-tos (i.e Biomancy), etc ... So perhaps a few pages of the most frequent questions?
Very cool to hear about another book, even more so on its rather different flavor behind it...
And hearing about potentially clearing some things up makes me want to ask a bunch of questions >.< I just don't wanna hijack the thread nor bug you about them... :P

It seems like the same principles used for a shield against kinetic energy would work -- you're basically blocking particles in motion either way.
(When Harry's blind-jumping into the Nevernever (in Changes?), he puts up a shield and mentions that it would protect him from vacuum -- at least for a few seconds. Presumably Rashid knows how to do it well.)
Or Rashid has had plenty of time to prepare and carries around a little enchanted item for that purpose. Lots of possibles.Does this mean you don't know, or you're not telling? (Are you getting hooked on Jim's writer's crack? [singsong] I'm not gonna tell you! [/singsong]) ;)

I don't know the specific, I just know that Rashid has left some footprints somewhere that will really mystify NASA someday.
Then he's gotten some REALLY cold or REALLY hot feet if his shoes/boots actually contacted the moon's surface. :D
Maybe the shoes ARE the enchanted item!

It does bring up a question I recently asked myself; somewhere in the DFRPG YS it talks about Teleportation being possible but I can't recall anyone actually using it. I would assume that if any White Council Wizard could do it it would be Rashid...but is there an actual mechanic for how much power that would take? I guess it's really up to the GM but I can only assume it'd be based on the distance traveled, but how does it actually work? Is it a wormhole? Or a cut-through the Never-never that doesn't actually enter into the Never-Never? Something to ponder.

Hi Fred,
Will the new book include the bad guys from the short stories after Small Favor? I'm most interested in those that were in "Last Call", "Even Hand", and "Aftermath."
Sam
Hi Fred,To the best of our ability, yes.

Guys,
definitely email the team and ask them questions. I got answers in less than a day (and I think I gave them an idea for part of the clarification chapter :o )
Would love to see a possible write up, or at least glance over of Edinburgh...
This would be nice, maybe a write-up of some of the Wardens as well (Chandler, Meyers, etc.)I'll second the look at Chandler; I want to see the stats on the man the rest of the Council trusts to hold a checkpoint alone... and the rest of the Wardens trust to make food for them.
Any new Rumors?
Meaty bits to tease the taste buds?
The Catch Up chapter is a beast that threatens to feast upon the succulent eyemeats of the Underkoffler.
Still hard at work. The Neverglades got a new draft recently. The Catch Up chapter is a beast that threatens to feast upon the succulent eyemeats of the Underkoffler. Rob Donoghue's chapter on the open road is sounding more and more interesting. Vegas is coming together, as are others, too, while the Russian Revolution has nearly reached its feverish conclusion.REJOICE.
Will the upcoming book cover details about the Oblivion War?If so, it'd prolli be very limited (to what's described in Backup)

Unlikely. That info is still largely a big setting secret held almost exclusively inside Jim's head.

I assume there's no idea on when a release date might be?
Nope.no idea ... nope

Those are the 7 for-sure ones. There's one short "maybe" one that I don't want to mention in case it gets jettisoned.
So in other words, "Hey Guys! I have a secret.... and you guys can't know" ? ;D
Well, since there are three casefiles currently out as of Evil Acts, I'd say, yes, that's still the case.
The Paranet Papers is coming in 2012. Can't say when in 2012, because I don't know.
We may be able to get some other stuff out there too, but Paranet's furthest along. We've got a "left field" freebie coming in a bit (maybe a month?) too -- not a casefile. Something else.
Left field freebie?Signs point to said freebie showing up in October. ;D
