When you talk about collecting things for a "master" I immediately think about the show Reaper.  The main character was supposed to capture souls for the devil and return them to hell.  He did so by dropping them off with an intermediary. . . a demon working at the DMV.

I'd imagine you could have an underling working at some other sympathetically linked location be the drop off point.  For example if it was a Summer Court Fae your player might have to drop them off at a Nursery with a greenhouse that was excessively lush even in the dead of winter.

I used "Enter Sandman" as my Trouble for a Somnimancer (Sleep/dream focused Practitioner).

Read/listen to the lyrics of that song and tell me it doesn't describe some baddie in the Never Never.

ooh White court gives me an idea.  With Paris being known as such a traditionally romantic city a cool theme would be "City of Love and Lust"

I've been thinking about this one for a long time and I've got lots of ideas:

One thing that has always interested me is the concept of circles existing in and around cities.  Paris has a couple that would particularly neat to think of as "boundaries" for one reason or another.
The modern day circle that is most prominent is the Périphérique, the highway that goes around the outside of Paris.  It's always been described to me as the boundary of truely living inside Paris.
There is also an old wall that ran around Paris.  Several sections of that wall still exist and it could serve as a boundary for some of the older supernatural things, a prison maybe?

You've also got 20 very distinct districts called arrondissements.  It would be entirely logical to think that a Dresden files Paris would have each of these controlled by different warring supernatural factions.  They're numbered from 1-20 and the lower the number is a traditionally higher class neighborhood.

Also don't forget the islands on the middle of the Seine, Ile de la cité & Île Saint-Louis. Ile de la cité, where Notre Dame is located, was the first settled area in Paris.  Lots of fun possibilities on why people would settle there.

Also on that island is Sainte Chapelle, it was built to house the Crown of Thorns from the Crucifixion.  It goes on display in Notre Dame with a piece of the Cross on Fridays during Lent (if I'm remembering correctly.)

Luminos has some great ideas there, I also think that Sponsored Magic (Fury) is an option.
Though I'd almost think a discounted version that doesn't allow for focus items might be justified in that as well.

I could see someone building a "Last Son/Daughter of Alera" character with this type of stuff.

If it matters I was able to get my PDFs into Goodreader by using the local sync as well.

Master of useless knowledge

You know a lot about nothing

Invoke: Can be invoked to declare rarely known fact about location or person.  May provide +2 to some rolls where knowing obscure and mostly useless facts could be valuable

Compel: You had to have learned this stuff somewhere, may cause a character to stop and stare at things as he/she is easily distracted by some interesting, but ultimately useless

Enter the Sandman

Champion of the Phoenix.

This whole idea is just AWESOME!  I'm going to adopt it as well.  Thanks!

For as long as I know how to love...
  I will survive.  Hey Hey!

Invoke: Your determination makes you a bit more resiliant than the average person when in social situations.  You might also see hope when alone in a situation

Compel: Once wronged by someone you are much more reluctant to forgive them.  If abandoned by a person then they may never be in your good graces again.

Here's one for a guy I'm working on.  Surely someone will get the movie reference.  One of my favorites  ;D
Charlie Bronson's always got rope.

1. A character who's main motivation is to disseminate as much information about the magical world at large to the general public. This includes street corner 'performances' in which they gather a crowd and performs acts of harmless but undeniable magic.

It's almost begging for an aspect like "Why won't you believe me?"  Something where the guy is always right and knows something especially when it seems outrageous.

I'll be honest I didn't know what to expect for a price and it made me look twice, at least until I thought of what I'd expect to pay for a full boxed set of DND 4e (like everyone else has mentioned).  Most of my purchases are through Amazon.com and it's strictly a numbers deal with me.  Plus I participate on Symatec's community site a great deal and that gets me the opportunity to get gift cards to Amazon.

That said. . . Fred has gone way above and beyond what anyone should or could dream of to keep us informed.  I respect that and I'm going to have to seriously consider how I can afford to get the most of the purchase price in to his hands directly.

Maybe I missed it, but was there a character type that fit in line with the "Denarius in my head" thing?

*sigh* I live in Independence and still can't get to a signing.  I'm leaving for a work conference this day.
Last year it was tickets to a show forced on me by my wife and parents in April and a vacation in May.
