DF Spoilers / Re: Could Mavra be under Eb's control?

However, I found it strange Ebenezer had something that could specifically target and lock down her magic.  Also, he didn't want to talk about how he planned to do so.

Harry did the same thing with Kravos in between storm front and fool moon.  Granted Harry had hair, but eb wasn't much phased by not having that, but if I can remember He said it would be more like a wet blanket.

I wonder if that excuse would work in reality.

With today's PC/law suit world I am sure in most places all he will need to do is make a scene and it will be allowed past.  Security people are always scrutinized for unfair treatment of individuals and are more then happy to avoid scenes.

Also Hipsters.

Weaklings and newbies. All a real wizard needs are 3 things:
  • black leather duster
  • kick ass hat
  • A long phallic multi purpose stick

excuse me. It's Traditional Ozark Folk Art

Not unlike the one-use super barrier crystal he gave Molly to use in TC.

I was also thinking this, but again how would having those two spells sitting side by side etched in to the same artifact.  I think maybe the hat could hold the one off force bubble that protects him head to toe for 24 hours.

Also don't forget with something like that it needs to keep stuff from coming in, but also allow stuff to get out.

Something that extends it out across his whol aura rather than the literal cover of the leather would be nice.  He saw it done in Changes when Lea made those protections for Susan, and an example on stage has been an easy source of upgrade before (see how many times he's mentioned adapting Rashid's eye salve).

I wonder what the life time on a spell like that would be.  It would be interesting to see Harry weigh the strengths of his spells vs the duration.  He says he is close to a year before having to rework the duster spells.  It would be interesting if he would give up say 6 months of duration to increase the strength and space of the spell.

Key word here is SPIRIT..  A computer is nothing more than lines of code typed by people into a machine.  It is not alive, has no spirit, no soul, and is not sentient.  Any sentient's it display's is programmed to mimic sentient's without actually having it.

You could argue that a 'named' coded personality (ala Jarvis and Friday) could have more to it then just 1 and 0's due to having a name in the DV.

Jim has also mentioned that harry spend roughly 20 hours a week working on magic gear maintenance.  I would assume that some of this is work on the duster.  To do this for additional items may just be too much of a time investment.

Any more Dresden siblings at what point and from what perspective.  I mean he did already introduce Marcone at some point. So...

I just find it hard to believe that a woman is going to wait until she is 150+ years old until she is going to have her first kid.

Here is the WoJ I was looking for.  Again in so much as you can trust WoJ's any more.  I think this one is probably a definitive no, but being almost 10 years ago we don't know how the story has changed.

Some 2008 booksigning pulled off of youtube:

Do Harry and Thomas have any other siblings out there?
NO

wasn't there a WOJ that there was no more Dresden Siblings? I'll see what I can do to dig it up.

But then again can we really trust any WoJ? :/

Unless you count "being nice" as part of the arrangement.

This was my thought on the subject as well.  Good Behaviors vs. Gift.

That's the thing though, we dont really know that she got all that much /power/ increase, all we really know is that she's is a lot less likely to be consigned to Oblivion now.

Do we know that worship/knowledge is tied to power level in the DV?  I know in the Iron Druid Cornicles that it is implicitly stated several times.  But in the DV all that I recall is that if you are forgotten from the minds you cease to exist.

Hence forth I will discuss them as a cloak of power and a fireplace shelf.

Are we saying that each SC seat has its own power boost.  Or are we saying that each SC wizard may have their own things?
