This sounds interesting.  Is it located anywhere else besides Facebook?  (I'm a Facebook hater.)

Pharaoh and I just had our first publication, a short story up at AnotherRealm.  I keep going back to the site and staring in disbelief ... it doesn't seem real!

From the writing team of Pharoah and yours truly ... the online magazine Another Realm is publishing one of our short stories in March.  Our first publication.  Woohoo!

Author Craft / Re: The Snowflake Method

Can't comment on the first person bit as I haven't written much in first person ... but I do use the snowflake method.  It helps me to get organized and get going.  Of course the plot and characters do change some as I do the actual writing, but at least I go into it having a direction.  Having a map that changes is better than no map at all, for me.  I've tried just winging it and found I don't finish anything that way LOL.

I tend to use the "snowflake" method of writing to get me started and keep me going and somewhat organized.

I fill out a "character sheet" on each character going in, but it fleshes out considerably as I go along.  I do always want to have at least what they look like, and tags and traits identified (see Jim's blog if you don't know what those are).

I'm in a rather different situation, being one half of a writing team.  We keep each other from procrastinating too much.  Helps that we have so much damn fun writing together.   ;D

Italics are hard to read.  I'd just indicate in the chapter name who is speaking.  One of my favorite authors switches voices between chapters ... I think it's Kelly Armstrong ...

Not to mention what you learn by reading what the other players are writing and trying to keep up with them.  I'm constantly looking stuff up on the internet.  And after all the speed-posting I've done with some people ... I'm not sure I'll ever really have writer's block again ROFL.
