Don't know if you are joking or not but to gird your loins is to tie up/secure your loose garment (like a long tunic's lower ends) and secure the loose ends around your legs and or waist to allow greater freedom of movement in preparation for something strenuous like hard work or battle.

It also referred to snugging up securing certain swingly bits that would react with sensitivity to the application of swords, spears, and the like.  Making them a more compact target increases the likelyhood of the owner retaining his aquaintence with them.

Very true MSD.  I could never even begin to picture Murph without blond hair.

I've seen pictures of Marsters with his natural brown hair, looks good and very Harry-like.
