I don't know if this is related to yesterday's issue, but today I keep getting that the server is down and that there is no cache to refer to. Still slow too.

Dunno that I've been experiencing the site as slow at all in the last several weeks. Hm.

I'll turn off Cloudflare for the short term.

is it the sight? because other sights i have open and i am useing at the same time (youtub mostly) still work ?
as it keeps apareing when i try to load pages on the forums or post or start new topics?

Sounds like some sort of temporary network affliction hit you -- since you're here, I have to assume you eventually connected fine. If you could show me a screenshot of the error message when you encounter it next, it might help me troubleshoot.

Okay, I added a 40k one as well. So the rungs that are still undiscovered are: 40,000; 50,000; 75,000; and 100,000. I have no plans to add anything beyond 100,000.

Once you post that many, you disappear into the internet and are never heard from again, save as that whisper when someone's all alone in the library, the scuff of a shoe when nobody else is home.

Would it be possible/easy to add the "Posts per day" stat to the member listing so that we can sort/rank by them?  Im pretty sure Cenwolfgirl is blowing most of us out of the water (95.6/day at the time of this post), but Id be curious to see what the overall stats look like without having to investigate individual profiles

Not easy, and I doubt we need to ask the server to do that sort of calculation in the first place. (I get that it's fun, but I'd rather it be focused on, y'know, taking in and showing folks their posts!)

Today is the first time I got 25 hits that were empty when I searched for "Feynman" though.  Something is odd with the search algorythm...

I suspect part of what's going on has to do with the aggressive retiring (deletion) of old threads on a number of boards. That's done via a back-end script I wrote, which doesn't engage the forum software directly, just the database -- so it doesn't necessarily do it in the cleanest fashion. This may result in search keywords that point to posts that no longer exist, still sitting there in the database turning up hits when you go searching.

I try to do a maintenance run in the software every now and then to clear out broken/confused bits like that, but there's always some hang-time during which you can run searches that get results pointing to nowhere.

A theory, at least.
