Do you know anyone in the Birmingham area running Dresden Files? A few local folks have expressed interest.

Strands of FATE can handle supers.  It should be out very soon.

I know about the panel because I've been trying help get it organized.  Not sure if it'll be much more than Fred at this point.  D*C has just not been helpful this year.  I'm not the primary contact point but I get the impression the staff are not committed to this being successful.

I'll be there, although I'll probably miss the fun of seeing Fred at the 'indie'/small press RPG panel Friday.  Planning on having several pick up gaming options on me so PM me or email me if your interested.  saintandsinner.jmj@gmail.com

Well, we have one commitment and one strong maybe.  If anyone else runs across this we could still use some help.

Thanks so much,
Scott

Mainly because I'd really like to play in some DFRPG con games.

I'd definitely return the favor for you running for me and my son.  Thanks so much!  I'm a little burnt out on it in general though.  One bad game among the 6 others is not sitting well with me.  Must make sure I'm not over commited next year.

DFRPG / Dragoncon Demo Help
« on: August 12, 2010, 07:48:45 PM »
For everyone with DFRPG game mastering experience.

Are you interested in being at a panel on 'indie' games that Fred Hicks is on then running a 'scheduled pick up game' for participants afterward? Panel is 11:30am on Friday with game to be run in 1pm slot Friday.

Thanks for considering this, I have a work commitment that will make me unavailable. The followup panel is Saturday I think at 2pm. Not required but is for discussion and feedback from players about these 'new games'.

Just let me know.

For anyone who received individual messages about this, I'm broadcasting it everywhere I can find.  I'd love to have plenty of help rather than have to drop this part of the unofficial 'indie track'.

Thanks,
Scott

Thanks so much!  Between work and Gencon prep I'm getting a bit punchy.

I have a couple of pre-gens that I need to make sure I've fully vetted their magic abilities.

Xian
Conviction 5
Discipline and Lore 4

Evocation (Earth, Fire, and Spirit) +1 Control Earth

Focus Items
Sash +1 Offensive Control Earth
Bracelets +1 Defensive Control Earth

Rotes
'Qin Huau' Great Earth Wall - 6 Shift Earth Def.
'Chang Guou' Secret Valley - 4 Shift Spirit Veil
'Ziou Xe' Crushing Fist - 6 Shift Earth Attack
'Huo Qi Gau' Dragon Spark - 4 Shift Fire Manuv

Katash
Discipline and Conviction 4
Lore 3

Channeling (Spirit) Light and Darkness effects

Items
2 open 'potion' effects

Rotes
Dragonis Rex - Manuver, shock and awe
Gael Gon - Blast of Force/Light 5 shift
Shield of Darkness 4 shift

Benedict
Thaumaturgy (Specialization +1 Control Defensive Wards)

Items
Cross +1 Power Ward
x1 open 'potion' slot

Did I miss anything?  Do the rotes look like they are pulling the correct amount of effect?

Thanks so much all (I'm starting to see cross eyed preparing for Gencon)

DFRPG / Re: Please help me price this Catch
« on: August 03, 2010, 09:09:32 PM »
However, "living human flesh" is a pretty burdensome catch since even the mere presence of the catch is supposed to make a person uncomfortable (triggers compels).  So even if someone took a generous perspective of "other people's living flesh" you basically have a character that doesn't want to make direct physical contact with others.  Hello Mr. Monk.

This is for a Hulk-like character (cursed with a spirit of rage).  He tends to go away from civilization and attack other monsters.

Games on Demand will take place on Friday and Saturday (August 6-7) from 10am – 6pm in Grand Central Ballroom B of the Crown Plaza Hotel.

Once you’re there, look for us at tables 1-6. Find the event hosts, tell them what you’re interested in playing and let them guide you to the fun.

While you do not need to register for games, generic tickets are required to play at GoD. The best time to find open games is at the start of a session (10am or 2pm). You can also show up with a game ready and volunteer to run it at an open table!

If you’re interested in signing up as a host or GM, contact Scott (saintandsinner.jmj@gmail.com) or talk with one of the hosts at the event for more information.

For additional updates online, or to coordinate game times, check out the @Games_On_Demand account on Twitter.

I'll be there late-ish Thursday thru Monday morning.  I'd love to run (or even better play) Dresden at Games on Demand, after hours at the Embassy, etc.  Just email me at saintandsinner.jmj@gmail.com.

Would hearing the music or being in touch with living flesh allow another attack through?

There may be more available after con season. I'm planning, time permitting, to put up some notes on mine.

I'm the GM so the Amber commit is an all day affair (we only get together once a month).  I'll see about dropping by the pre-session though and maybe next month will work out.  As an alternative, do you see any need for someone to play NPC's for you?  I have a lot of GM and FATE experience.
