Title: A thought...possible spoiler, but I don't think so.
Post by: EBRIEN on October 04, 2017, 03:49:08 AM
So...Odin is Odin except when he's Kringle while in Winter.

What about this: Maybe he's also the Gatekeeper. There's the eye. He also possesses a great deal of information. He's tall. (Seems like Odin is sometimes described as tall and rangy)

I know...I'm grasping at straws here, but it struck me on the ride home as a possibility given that people in the Dresdenverse seem to wear more than their fair share of masks.

While I cannot completely discount the possibility, I really doubt it.  Seems like that would be too much "job" for one man.

I mean, We haven't seen Odin & Rashid in the same place at the same time.
But by that logic, I haven't seen me and Batman together either...

Harry's tall... perhaps he's Rashid?  Look I like plot twists too but I really think this is bordering on silly like the theory that every character is time traveling Harry.

Anything is possible until it has been disproven in story or WOJ, but I doubt this. As Rasins said, it seems like too much job for one man. In addition, Rashid presumably uses magic with a similar basis as Eb and Harry (with a different focus of course) while Odin most likely uses a rune based magic. I know that practitioners can learn different types of magic, but I doubt Odin would take the time.

Unless he is the source of Gard's rune based magic?

Are you suggesting that Gard's power springs directly from Odin and not the universe like wizard's magic? To my knowledge we have not seen that in the books, but it can't be discounted. Especially if Mr. Butcher chooses to incorporate things like the Odinforce into the Dresden Universe. Maybe Gard's rune magic flows from the Odinforce.

Well, it does seem the runes are a means to tap into sponsored magic.

Adam West had to be a great actor to pull off many of those scenes with such a straight face.

Though, you have to give Keaton some credit for going from Mr.Mom and Beetlejuice to the dark knight more than I would give Clooney and Kilmer.

Personally, I think Christian Bale has done the best job as both Bruce and Batman.

Cloony was a good Bruce, but not a good Batman.
Keaton was a good Batman and an okay Bruce.  I like him a LOT because he kind of kicked off the whole DC return to the big screen.  (I don't credit Superman at all, though Reeves did a passable job).

Scandalous, Reeves is the standard for Superman that done has matched.
Clooney was just Clooney, no Batman in him.
