Is there going to be a price for this, like at the store on the 26th? Just want to budget for it...

Attending.

Nope, the signing on the 26th is the only one that is ticketed.
-
Anyone know if you can bring your own books with you to this store to get signed or can you only get the books you buy there signed? I know the borders in MI a couple years ago let you bring up to five books from home to get signed.
-
I am so there.

If it's like the last time they held a signing, they expect you to buy at least ONE book there, but you can get others signed. I remember one person having I think every book in the series to date signed (I think that was about 11 books, at the time). I'd recommend a slightly smaller number as there are usually a lot of other people who want to get stuff signed (I think the wife and I had 3-4 books total signed between the two of us.)
-
At Dragon*Con there was a Two Book Limit, but I can't speak for the tour signings.
-
Jim will generally sign three books per person, though if you have more, you can wait until the end of the signing, and he'll scribble on whatever else you have, assuming the bookstore hasn't closed by then.

FIFY ;D

Oooh! I know exactly where this is! Been there several times.
*goes off to budget her money for the short trip there*
-
Thanks for the heads up Priscellie ;D

I just called up the store and have them holding a copy for me. I live in
Michigan, but happen to have family that lives in the area. When I told
my wife about the signing, she told me she was on vacation and going
to see her sister. Now I'm tagging along to get a signed copy of
Ghost Story.
So I'm currently doing the Joygasm dance right now!!!!!!!

Just checked the bookstores website and it posted this on the event calender tab:
"Line numbers beginning at 6 pm. Please show your books&co receipt for Ghost Story to get a line number."
So for those of you going to the Dayton event, take note. Sucks because now I have to wait till the 29th to buy my copy, but it will be so worth it in the end.

Woah, thanks for posting this! It wasn't there when I checked the website a few weeks ago. Shall spread the word.

Does anyone know if we have to buy the book there to attend the Q&A?

Anyone can attend the Q&A, but only folks who bought GS at the store can get stuff signed.
-
Good enough for me.
-
Really great place for signings. The Turn Coat signing was ran well. The staff is high quality too.
Be warned, the coffee bar is now a smoothie bar from what I've been told.
-
I called and requested they hold a copy of the book for my wife and me (as we are driving from Indy day of the signing). We really enjoyed the Turn Coat signing and can't wait to go.
-
We went to the Turn Coat signing there for my daughter. She loves his books and has read every one several times. Wonder if he'll remember her since last time he was amazed that an 8 yr old had read his books. He even quizzed her cause he thought I was joking when I said the book was for her not me. She's already rereading the previous books so she can go straight to the new one.
-
So how many forum members do we have going to this shindig anyway?
-
I'll be there. In fact during my lunch break I'm going there to pick up my copy of GS and then trying to figure out how the heck I'll manage to work the rest of the day! ;D
-
We need to all meet up and at least say hi. I'm sure there will be more than just a couple of us there.
-
I'm going there tonight go get a book for myself and my girlfriend. We'll be there on Friday for the signing and the Q&A.
-
I will be coming straight from work in Cincinnati, so I likely will be just coming for the Q & A, I may jump in line at the end if I have time. It will be hard to miss me, I will be likely the only guy in all blue nurses scrubs in attendance. ;o)
-
Well, Sir. My dear friend. Tim and I could be persuaded to hold you a spot in line if they will let us. :)
-
Is there any way we can identify ourselves or do we just have that crazed look in our eyes that says, "yes, you've ready my witty quips, and I know way more about the DV than you."
-
I was thinking what if we all got "my name is" stickers and put our screen names on them.
-
I'm tempted to have Jim sign the Dresden drawing I've been working on...
Looking forward to the Q&A and getting my books signed! ;D
-
From John Scalzi's Twitter account:
Popped in at @longshotauthor's appearance to say hello; now heading out. It's awesomely packed in there.
-
It was a great signing. I got it all on audio, and I'll try and get that uploaded in the next few days. Anyone know a good place to upload it?
-
Completely concur with above statement. The signing was awesome. Jim were his usual witty, snarky, hilarious awesomeness. The "Diet Coke Incident" will either be repeated often, or wiped from our collective memories. ;)
Jim got to gleefully sing-song "I'm Not Gonna Tell You" at least twice. Got to meet some great folks, got to liste n to "The Man" speak, got some more of my collection signed, and got another blurry picture of me and Jim.
Special thank you to Seraphina and TimZ for valiantly defending my seat they were holding for me against all comers. Y'all completely rock. :)

Thanks to those of you who came out to the event last night... it was a great Q&A session and you guys were a fantastic crowd.

(ps - don't forget to hit up the link on the back of the Harry Dresden business cards we handed out for our store survey. Your responses help in measuring the success of events, among other things, and can influence future author selection.)
Edit: ..and here's a couple of pics I snapped:

Jim packs in the crowds wherever he goes. Not exaggerating.
-
Awesome! Pictures of my fat ass on the internet. :) Having said that, it was awesome. Always fun going to see Jim.
-
I had a great time here. Met people from Michigan and Indianapolis and all over Ohio. There was only one person dressed like Harry, though. We'll have to do better next time. :-) Ohio loves Jim Butcher!

You do realize if you kept quiet no one would have know it was you, right ;)
