NPC:
Joey Williams caretaker/tour guide of the local Railroad depot (The railroad depot in the photo below was built in 1886 in Fate, TX, which is northeast of Dallas, for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad.).  He suffers from accute insomnia and can be found at the depot at all hours working on the models and general building upkeep.  Characters might encounter him if they are doing anything in town "after hours" as he is the one man neighborhood watch for FATE (he carries a police band walkie talkie with him when cruising at night to contact the Sheriff if anything looks out of sorts...given his insomnia and resluting (occassional) hallucinations, this makes the sheriff slow to respond to anything "weird").

Joey is a veritable treasure trove of knowledge (Superb) about the history of FATE and the surrounding county but he has little use for the world outside of his immediate enviornment.  Other skills would be Investigation (Fair), Intimidate (Fair), Drive (Good).

small typo on the gender switching portion...says that both types of water turns the character "male".

NPC:

Clifford "Red" or "Red Dawg" Wilkinson, owner operator of the Wilkinson Towing and Repair in FATE, TX.  Red lives a few miles outside of town but his business is located on the outskirts of town.  If the PCs are having any sort of vehicle issues they will be directed to his small garage or if they need a vehicle towed he will be the one dispatched (as he is the only garage in town).

Red refuses to live inside the city limits and he will cite the weird goings on around the full moon period as "typical of the star watchin' fruitcakes" that seem to be drawn to Fate.  What he doesn't know is that living outside of the town has insulated him from the ongoing low level domination of the townsfolk.  While he's a salty guy ("now you ladies watch yer step, wouldja like sum hep with that?") he's honest and has his moments of clarity.  As far as knowing who's who in Fate he can be considered to have contacts of Great and his ability to repair vehicles is Superb (depending on parts availability).

Looks good, how many lines of text can you input into the background and phase fields?  Will you be posting this on Mythweavers or some other character hosting site?

I'm not close enough or I'd be interested as well (a little over an hour from louisville).  Still, it wouldn't kill me if it wasn't a weekly game.

So far it definitely has a very odd "twin peaks" or a lighter Ravenloft sort of feel to it.  One of those places where the natives seem happy but folks travelling through get that feeling of impending doom.  I think it'd be a great place for a one shot.  Character suggestions would include a local (nothing supernatural but a clued in mortal searching for his lost relative...maybe she's the body for the next incarnation of crazy ol' man Douglas' wife...very Strahd feeling but it could work) who has woken up to the fact that there's something weird going on.  Depending on the number of players/power level involved you'd have to give us some ideas on how you would like it to scale.  For a small group (2-3) I would suggest one local, two travellers who have been stranded by FATE in this small town right before the full moon...even better if one of them is a werewolf.  If you don't like the local PC idea, create an NPC to travel with the group and have her snatched by ol' man Douglas for the ritual.

Not that anyone besides me cares, but here's a Novel Chronology:

Wolf Time
Winter Ghosts
Falsely Accused
Past Sins
Turf Wars
Dragon Slayer
Finding Justice
Blood Debts

It does help keep the character chronology straight though.

Nice to see all the tie ins already in place.  If not used for a convention game they would also serve as a great example of how to put together a group of interconnected characters.

I'd go with a block rather than an attack.  The damage that anything moving through the wall of fire takes is circumstantial (like being on fire after getting hit with a fuego burst.  Rating the amount of damage (imo) would be best calculated by using the conviction level used to create the spell.

This brings up a question for me...can you "ready" an action/block/manuever/spell?  This would be along the lines of gathering the power needed for the shield but not launching it.  If you're surprised it wouldn't be much good but (as the boos point out) not even a monster is faster than the speed of thought.

Aspect 1: Pay the Ferryman
(Sounds to me like those check cashing places but with power instead)
It seemed like such a great idea at the time you needed his help the most, now you're counting down the time until you can say that your debt is paid.

Invoke: Able to call on whoever it is you dealt with for more favors if you're in a jam.

Compel: You owe your soul to the company store as you keep extending the time it will take to work off all the favors you owe.  One day the Ferryman might decide that it's time to collect in full and leave you hanging when you need it most.

I have seen the worst humanity has to offer.

Yes it has to be purchased but has been around for quite a while and is a stable gaming platform (as far as sharing maps, etc with your group).

Not planning on using Boston but I think everyone would be interested in what you've put together (even if it's just to see some examples of what's possible).

Sounds great so far.  I agree that the social combat aspect of the game sounds like it could drag out if you're not able to use aspects willy nilly.  Would this be like using a manuever in regular combat to speed things up?

PC1 - I add manuever "prey on your fears of DM" (assumes success)
PC2 - I add manuever "support PC1 with evidence of what will happen with DM" (assumes success)
NPC - Holy crap, I have to defend myself (total defense of +2)
PC1 - going for the kill shot at +4
PC2 - just in case PC1 blows it I can follow up at +4

Would that work to speed things up or am I missing something mechanical?
