Isn't that always the case? I too seem to suffer from it.

Out of curiosity, please let me know if it gets more or less "fairly readable" beyond Torch Light.
I'd say the Dalca series is dark, and the Mirrorverse isn't very light. But is the Hayes series "dark"? I didn't think it was, at least any more so than Dresden.
As for Amy...
Also: Griffin wrote something nice and fairly readable. It's set in Dresdenverse, but it doesn't touch many original characters too deeply:
https://www.fanfiction.net/u/7102335/griffyn612 I've only read Torch Light 1for now, but it looks like I'm going to read the next one as well
When I heard that WOJ, I thought Sue would help fight the Kaiju that was going to appear.
Unless ...
Jim is just relating the story of Harry, and Harry complains more about how Jim isn't keeping it secret.
I just do not see Marcone being a knight. He may play a critical role, but part of who Marcone is -- is a crime boss. I cannot image a crime boss being a knight of the cross.
Might be interesting if the reaper we saw pays him a visit.
The one about angels being absolute was recent. I can't place the source right now - it was older than DragonCon, but I think it was one of the Q&A's this year or late last.
Would you happen to remember where the TWG as a mantle that may have changed hands was from? I had some vague memories of a comment like TWG is the eternal creator of the universe, but wasn't always. I've been trying to find that one again for a while to confirm what exactly was said, but I haven't been able to find it. Somebody else remembering something along those general lines makes me wonder if maybe the Fall was precipitated by the creator mantle changing hands and some of the angels resenting the change in management.
Fourth, backlash and fallout. Rituals explode when they fail, often with catastrophic results. Projects can go terribly wrong, but I don't think flubbing one management roll should cause a catastrophe the way it does with a ritual. Also, anywhere where a ritual would hit the caster with mental or physical stress a project should probably hit the manager with social stress.
