(re: Bob signed)  Cool!  Did you have to bring a sharpie or did a normal pen work?  I was wondering about that later.

I was thinking that the shirt was very appropriate considering who you had with you.   ;)  I guess I was a little shy about mentioning that to you at the time.

Jim had a sharpie already  ;D

and it took me a moment to realize you meant Bob and not the beauty I had with me. ;) :P

Did you get him to sign Bob?  (BTW, I saw you there -I was sitting in the row in front of you.)

Yeah, Bob got signed.  Jim got a kick out of it too, so I doubt he's signed too many of them.

And what did you think of my shirt?  I got a LOT of comments on it.

There or not, just the rumor of him being there is enough for me to fly out from Ohio...

ok, I was gonna be in the area for something else anyway.  But the other version sounds better. :P

I may just have to pack Bob for him to sign. ;D

How are the Joker, Sauron or Voldemort not "evil for the sake of evil" in your view, then ?

To, the Joker is just in it for fun.  He's just severely warped.  As to the other 2... well, I did say Rarely, didn't I? ;)

Don't kill them.  If they are truly GOOD villains, you can use them again later.

as to the other, personality.  Think of some of the best villains.  Magneto is up there.  Of course, most would know Voldemort.  Sauron.  The Joker.  Sephiroth.

Rarely is evil for the sake of evil convincing.

I came across a rather good 'writing guide' online a while back and since he says it better than I... here it is.

It is about 3/5 down.

I am on a lot of different xsorbit boards.  you can password the whole thing so only members can see stuff.

ahh... but GOOD SF, while it may BE Trekkish, doesn't SEEM Trekkish.

Of course, that is just my opinion and my limited experience therein.

I think they have to be able to PROVE you took it from them on purpose and w/o permission for it to be plagiarism.

But I am no expert on such things.

I also seem to suffer for Adams-isms.

I started a story where I created the most evil being I could... and thusly named him Christian Blessings (hey, irony ;) ).  Well, part way thru chapter 2, I killed him off and turned him into an undead avenger.

Of course, I later saw a similar idea in a book and then a movie based on the book.  Only Jimmy Cuervo wasn't all that evil. ;)

I cheat.  If I want to creat a vampire, I find one of my VTM books and create a character based off of that.  I generally give them more powers than VTM would allow, but after a few hundred years, they'd get more powerful. ;)

I do the same with Werewolves, etc.

I use those as the BASIS...  there is still the fleshing out process.

To date, I think the most... interesting fun annoying vampire I ever created was a Malkavian that spoke like yoda, but in riddles.  He'd RARELY speak if not in a riddle.  Of course, being a Malkavian, he was quite insane and as such, the riddles usually made no sense at all. :P
