Not that I'm petty or anything, but whyfor not does Jim come to New Mexico? :'( :'( :'( I'm too poor to drive up to Colorado for a signing! We have the Southwest Writer's Workshop here. It's a large writer's group that even has a conference every year (at least it used to...) Tell him all about the perks of coming to the High Desert. He can take the Breaking Bad tour! The Old Town Ghost Tour! (My daughter is a guide for that...) Go up the world's longest tram! Lose money at an Indian casino!
Please, please, convince Jim to come to Albuquerque (or even Santa Fe) for a signing! ;D ;D ;D You know how B I G the West is, the drive is too F A R !!!!

What if we prefer the ebook? Are we still allowed to get older books signed or even the cover of the tablet case? I typically have authors sign a special cover for my tablet.

Call the store and ask. They may request that you bring in your Nook receipt.

I usually get Kindle books hehe.
Never tried the Nook formats. :\

Ah, gotcha. Good question, which I don't know how to answer. Definitely ask the store!

But I thought you see all and know all! :D
I'll give the store a buzz to see what they have to say. :)

If I bring another book along after buying one there would he be able to sign it?
Found reddit post that I needed, 3 books per person per trip though line time permitting. Awesome. If that is not the case then let me know other wise I need to chose what other 2 I should bring.

What is the time frame for the signing, roughly? I ask because this other guy named Brandon Sanderson is doing a signing for his new Mistborn novel literally the exact same date and time about a 10-minute drive from here at a different bookstore, and I'd love to be able to go to both signings, but I wasn't sure how that would work, time-wise.
Unless, you know, Jim and Brandon want to tag-team and do a joint event of some kind :)... I actually ran this by Brandon on twitter and he said that he might see if he and Jim could team up somehow. I realize this may be impossible due to already being committed to different bookstores, but that would be REALLY awesome!

Mr. Sanderson actually moved his signing time up to accomodate Mr Butcher's signing. Sanderson's is now at 6 pm, but he said he would be there at 5:30 for fans wanting to hit both signings. :)
Is this going to be a Q&A too? Or just signing, do you know, Priscellie? I might have to go visit my brother in Denver. I hear the brownies are good, too. ;)
-
Sigh. This date is just a total no-go for me. :( Oh well. At least I get to see Kim Harrison soon in Raleigh. She, Brandon Sanderson, and Christopher Moore, have all come to Quail Ridge books in Raleigh.... Hint, hint. ;)
-
Yes, there will be a Q&A before the signing! Jim generally signs into the night. Sometimes past midnight. As long as there are fans, he signs. It's no surprise he's had to have surgery to address the repetitive stress injuries. :D

No! Why this day? My two all time favorite authors (Jim Butcher & Brandon Sanderson) will be in Denver on the same day, at the same time.... I can't be at two places at one time...

As fans pointed out earlier in the thread, Sanderson is showing up at 5:30 for folks who want to attend both signings.
