Never seen the TV show I was referring to James Marsters affecting an English accent for his portrayal of Bob in the audiobooks. ;)
Oooops!  My bad!  (I've never listened to the audio books, either - I don't have the patience to listen to someone else read me a story, I'd rather read it myself.)

Forgive my ignorance but can Mark Hamill do an English accent? I'm sure he could but... Bob without an English accent, well I can't imagine it.
Those of us who have never watched the TV show don't have that issue. ;)

Too short

Too tall

Too perfect
If the magic of cinematography can make Tom Cruise not look anything resembling his actual height, they can do the same for others (or make them shorter).  I totally enjoy looking at Viggo Mortensen, but I haven't seen anything that leads me to think he has the needed snark.  (But I don't watch movies much, so maybe there's something out there?)

Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Where would YOU like Jim to appear?

I'm changing my wish.  Originally I was wishing for a Vegas appearance.  Now I'd prefer Tucson - Phoenix would be OK, too. :)

Glad I could help.  :)

OK, I'm on a different computer now, so I'm looking at Word 2010, and if you double-click on the tab stop icon on the ruler bar it brings up a little "Tabs" window and you can do whatever you want with the tabs.  (And it also works as I said above, to click on the tab icon at the far left then click in the ruler where you want the tab stop to be.)

37
You can't click on the tab icon to the far left of the ruler bar and select what type of tab you want, then click where you want it on the ruler bar?  (When I learned Word I learned on 2010, but I've always actually used 2007, so I still get confused as to which version works which way.)  Good luck with it!

38
I'm working in Word 2007, and I tend not to know the easiest ways to do things, but I would highlight all of the text I want it to apply to and then drag the tab stop to where you want it in the ruler bar.  There may well be an easier way to do it in 2010 (may even be an easier way in 2007), but it should still work.

RE: The enchantment on the wardens' swords that allows them to slice through magic - does it only work on mortal magic, or any and all magic?

I agree that Oldman could be a perfect Nic.  Since we're talking about "perfect" casting, I envision Marcone as a different body type than Oldman.  Stockier, more beefy, broader shoulders.  (Not that Oldman couldn't play the part, as I'm sure he could, but in my head he doesn't look the part.)

--anyone remember the quote where Murphy asks Dresden what happened to him. He tells her flat and she saids "you re not joking are you?"
The one I remember where she said that was when she asked him where he got some information and he said "a magic faerie told me."

Sigh, I like you mdodd - don't make me have to hurt you.
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO - Tom Cruise in a Harry Dresden film - not now - not ever.
He isn't right - on top of which - he'd probably demand changes that would make it not HD..
This.  Many, many times this.

I'm getting sick of all of these april fools jokes. >:(
I used to avoid the internet entirely on April 1, for just that reason.  But I haven't been online as much at all in recent months, so I forgot all about it until today.  Otherwise I would have missed all of this until it was over.

I dunno, Serack, I don't think he just keeps the title like a former president.  I think he still actually is an Esquire of the Summer Court.

And, of course, Harry being an Esquire of Summer as well as the Winter Knight must cause no end of headaches for each court's royal office of protocol.   :D
