A heating element so you can have hot running water.

Four pieces on the wall, two top and bottom corners, corresponding in the movie theater. Watch movies at home.

As a receiver for satellite TV.

As moldable keys to open locks.

To replay a scene in a area. Like Mab did.

I think the heating element is the best idea yet!!!  (do you think some day Harry will get one of those solar black box water heater thingies?)

As a Television... a bit harder.  I don't know if I'd want to spend the time putting all those tiny balls of red, green and blue playdough next to each other.  Then you got to think NSTC, PAL, HIDEF.  All those different Row and Line numbers...

Author Craft / Re: Conflict on multiple levels?
« on: July 13, 2010, 08:50:32 PM »
I'm sure there are as many ways to do this as there are writers, but I tend to do it in stages, as I have a hard enough time keeping track of my own characters and all their varied motivations as it is.  First I write the "A" conflict:  Bob and Carol are arguing about X, which happens to be the main conflict that furthers the plot. I get the gist of their argument written; then I go back and add Ted, who has his own agenda, to the conversation, creating a "B" conflict as well as a bit of character development for Ted.  Meanwhile, Alice, on the sidelines, just wants to find the ladies'--that's "C".  Then Tom chimes in--he really, really needs to talk to Carol about something RIGHT AWAY, and it can't wait; that's "D".  Dick tries to get Ted, who's had a few too many, to calm down, and you have your "E".  Meanwhile, Harry insists upon playing the background music at concert level, and they all have to scream over it, until somebody suggests taking the whole thing outside.  And so on.

Reading the above reminded me of what takes place in play's a lot, especially comedies (Suggested reading or viewing: Noises Off by Michael Frayn).  Basically, you have a bunch of one on one squabbles happening at the same time, with an attempted attack or defence in one squabble between A & B inadvertenly tips the scales of another squable between C & D in D's favor, but A & B are on C's side, so now A, B, and C have to stop D, but then E comes in and starts squabbling with C, but D could care less about A & B and would really like that Thing C took from him back, but now E has it and both C and D are trying to get the Thing from E, who is A's best friend,  so A tries to protect E from D and asks B to help so D won't get the Thing, but E is B's ex husband and she'd rather see D get the Thing than help her ex in any way, that rat bastard, and desides to break a vase over E's head instead.

The tension is built by a rising fustration level as each person takes an action.

Don't see why the same weaving couldn't be appied to a dramatic scene.

An earpeice communicator between you and your team.

There also may be a way to put an enchantment on it to make it act like a babel fish, but that would take a bit of knowledge and some time, and probably only one language per "fish"

You could throw a bunch somewhere and project your voice through it, so your voice seems to be coming from one place or many places.

Also, a bunch in a room could also be used to triangulate the sound and tell you where everyone was in the room, and if you were really good, the triangulation could, a combination of emitting and listening could be used as a form of sonar to help you travel through a space in the dark (and if you think that's too farfetched, there's a Real World method some blind people are using to locate obsticals in their path by clicking their toungs and listening to the echos).

Something is going on with Molly, though.  I think after that soul gaze with Thomas she was going to try to "help" him by mind bending him away from his demon, and THAT would not be a good thing at all.  She could see it as just another adiction, and now that she "knows better" she can take care of it correctly.  She also may have been nudging Harry in some sort of direction for some reason.  She picked up quickly on what Pebody was up to with the nudging he was doing, and she was trying to read Luccio and Morgan's brains - such things could be considered Grey Magic.

If someone's shapeshifted in to Molly, the only person I can think of who Mouse would'nt raize the alarm on would be Mamma Margret.  Mouse would know if Molly wasn't Molly, so if Molly isn't Molly, then Mouse has to be willing to protect whomever it is that is Molly.  If Mouse thinks Margret is there to protect Harry as well, they may have made an agreement. That would make that scene with Thomas more about a mother trying to help her son who's in pain than a love struck teenager hit by a combination of vampire lust and soulgazing compassion.

She dosen't have to be Molly all the time, either.  The real Molly could be dropping in for lessons and such and false Molly drops in at odd hours and just nudges Harry not to mention it when real Molly's around.  Maybe that's a bit to complicated, but still possible.  Here's the question... When is Molly's cooking good?

Na, I think it's all Evil Molly come back in time to manipulate Harry's mind.  She's shape shifted herself to look like her younger self, but she's been manipulating everything all along since the journey back from Arctus Tor.  Bwahahahah

But then a good future Molly comes back to fight her!

Mother Winter and Mother Summer would have been in control of things before Mab and Tatiana

Okay, good.  No accidental fires in Chicago.

But who could have grabbed Harry's memory... okay, who couldn't have is a better question.
The Nickleheads had him when they dragged him from the lake after the Aquarium thingy.  They may have done something then?

... and they were all voted off the planet save MAB!

I'm finding it rather spookie that Little Chicago's missing and Harry dosen't know.  I just figured it was under the tarp, but did find it odd he didn't use it.

I'm imagining this in a role playing situation
Player 1: My brother's missing and he's in trouble.  I'll just use Little Chicago to find him.
GM: What's Little Chicago
Player 1: My replica of Chicago I spent all that time building.  It's sitting on that table over there.
GM:  All that's sitting on that table is a tarp... and that's all you remember ever being there.

So either it was under the tarp and he didn't "notice" it, or someone nicked it along with all his memories of it.  I like the idea of it being nicked.  That way it still exists and wasn't burnt up in the house fire.  Eck! would real Chicago have burnt up if Little Chicago did?  It has been described as a voodoo doll of Chicago before.

Okay, then where do Mother Winter and Mother Summer fit into all this?

By the way, about 75,000 years ago (or so) is when the Genetic Bottleneck occured.  That's the time when they back track all the human genes and found out about 75,000 years ago, something happened and there were suddenly only about 1000 humans left on Earth.   Must have been one HELL of an ascension spell for Mab :)

Can't figure out if I'd like Peter Wingfield (Methos from Highlander, Police captain in Caprica) for Michael or Nicodemus.

In a couple of pictures on that site, he could even pull off Papa Raith
