DFRPG / Removal of Death Curse
« on: October 09, 2016, 08:31:57 PM »
Hi all.
One of my players got themselves hit with a deathcurse. As fun as it is tormenting them with limited offensive ability it probably only fair to set a 'quest' to have it mitigated.
Any suggestions from the hive mind before I get too twisted with my thinking.

DFRPG / Urban legends
« on: September 20, 2016, 08:14:08 PM »
Hi all.
I'm thinking of having a group of sessions based around various urban legends, ie 'Bloody Mary', 'he was inside the house all along'etc.
I'm just try in to think of a connecting story where someone/thing is causing the Urban Legends to come real. I have a few ideas but there's nothing so twisted as a communal internet mind... ...

Cheers

DFRPG / Christmas Special
« on: November 26, 2015, 06:17:04 PM »
Hi all

(Anyone playing in Oxford please stop reading now! ☺)

I'm planning on running a 'Christmas Special' session.

I can't help thinking that some kind of bastardisation of Die Hard with Winter Fae might be fun.

So I thought I'd turn to the forums for some brainstorming and such...

Any ideas how I could make this idea fun?

Cheers

DFRPG / Quick and Dirty Domination
« on: November 04, 2015, 08:56:52 PM »
Hi all,

I'm looking for suggestions on mechanics for quick and dirty Domination by a Black Court Vampire. As in making a character act for the vampire for a round or 2 in combat - a bit like the evil Christopher Lee stare with a very short effect, i.e. one Pc is made to attack another but only short lived.

I tried it in my last session as Discipline vs Discipline mental attack wearing the PC down into their consequences but it seemed a bit slow, clunky and nobody enjoyed it, not even me!

Any suggestions on how a quick and dirty short term domination may be played out?

cheers

Lawbreaker or not?

DFRPG / Body Swap
« on: July 14, 2015, 10:10:25 PM »
Quick question .... ....
I'm thinking of running a body swap schtick on my players,
Long story short - they've annoyed a Sidhe - everyone give their character sheets to the person on the left.
Obviously I'd like to put each character under the hammer a little to ensure everyone wants to swap back ASAP.

Has anyone tried this?
Did it help forge a stronger team or just cause more friction?

cheers

DFRPG / Help my bad guy!
« on: July 08, 2015, 07:47:58 PM »
To cut a long story short, my players have inadvertently made their own Arch Enemy! The NPC in question was meant to be a minor annoyance Sorcerer who was willing to go to any length to increase his powers, the PC's drove him into the arms of a Black Court Vampire with that the PCs had crossed earlier. So I thought it would be fun to turn him into a sword slinging, spellcasting Blampire (queue Evil GM laugh).
One of the PCs is a Hydromancer, my worry is that he'll cotton on to a circle of flowing water to both trap him and ground/isolate his magic. I don't want to be caught flat footed by this so ... .... Any ideas how the Sorcerer Blampire would get out of that one?

DFRPG / Foolish Fae Bargain
« on: May 31, 2015, 05:07:36 PM »
Hi all.
One of my players was foolishly so desperate for information from a Fae emissary that they struck a bargain. The price the Fae demanded was '1 day' . I thought the price would be too high and the player would back down, but they didn't! The info they thought they wanted was pretty useless too :-)

My question is... ... What to do with the one day? I have a few useful ideas that would cause trouble that I could use for plot hooks, but as they say, many heads are better than one ... ...

DFRPG / Accorded Neutral Territory
« on: March 31, 2015, 08:13:53 PM »
Hi again - the newbie GM with many questions and poor search skills!  :D

A question about the Unseelie Accords and Accorded Neutral Territory ... ...

From what I can find -
Certain places can be signed on as Accorded Neutral Territory (such as McAnally's Pub). This means that signatories of the Accords do not start any conflict on the premises, and are bound by their honor to take any fights outside

and
There is no spirit of the law, only its letter

Does this mean that Signatories are honour bound not to start conflict in general (obvious lawyering and plot device interpretation aside) or that signatories can only Not act against other signatories?

cheers

DFRPG / Newbie Question
« on: March 30, 2015, 08:58:18 PM »
Hi all.
Newbie GM here with a question I'm sure has been answered before but the search function is not being my friend.
How do you work out the base damage for an evocation attack? I understand that the more channel you power the more damage/stress done, but from what I can see all the examples in YS add this power shift to the base attack (annoyingly they always seem to use a base 4 in the examples! :-)

Cheers

DFRPG / Black Court & True Faith
« on: March 24, 2015, 08:23:55 PM »
Hi all.
Newbie GM here.
I have an odd (maybe) question about fine thralls.
If a Black Court had made a fine thrall of an NPC with True Faith, in so much as they weren't aware they were under mind control - would it be reasonable to assume the NPC could still use their true faith powers; i.e. the perfect Black Court sleeper spy - who would suspect?
