Subplots???

Anyone here using Jim's outlining techniques he details on his blog?  I'm trying to figure out how you weave the subplots into the scene-sequel outline.  It's making my brain hurt.  Any suggestions?  ???

Are you referring to his recent posting concerning the big board?  Easier than the outlining.  Used post it notes that can be color coded for sub-plots and easily moved around as the whole story grows?

The color-coding idea is good if you're not sure how you're sub-plots are playing out in the story.  Being able to move them is awesome, as is being able to step back and see their spacing and pacing.  If one sub-plot is too heavily weighed in the beginning of the book, you can spot it right away.  Jim is wise.

As far as this sort of thing goes, I've been using yWriter, and it has the capability to move the various threads around, as well as track a bunch of things.  It SOUNDS similar, I think.

It's a free writing program, basically just intended to help keep things organized.
