I delete the spam that was in my PM box but I still get a "You have 1 Message" warning.  My box is completely empty.  Is there another place the message could be so I can see what it is/delete if necessary?

To the best of my knowledge, no...the notifier probably didn't update. How long ago did you delete the mail? Have you rebooted? (Normally you wouldn't have to, but something got stuck). Another option might be to clear your cookies, if you know how.

If that doesn't work, I'm afraid we have to punt to Iago.

I have deleted my cookies/offline files.  Rebooted IE.  Nada. :(

I have -1 messages in my inbox.  Somehow the number went into negative digits when I deleted the spam.  O_o
