So 12M made a point of mentioning that the castle had a strong threshold on account of how many neighbor families Harry had welcomed in while their homes were uninhabitable.  Including the roof, per the gargoyles.

Previously, we've got WoJ about vampires and thresholds that the White Court could cross a threshold uninvited but they'd be barely able to use any supernatural mojo, the Red would be nearly disabled by doing so, and the Black just couldn't.

So ... what the hell?

The castle does have a strong threshold cause of the number of people calling it home. Harry invited the blampires in the final fight. He worded it carefully in a way that the blampires may think it was a mistake ( I may be wrong on this one). But he definitely invited them in on purpose. He had home court advantage and he used it. He can shift parts of the castle so fighting them inside the castle was easier

Harry did say the castle's threshold was strengthened because several families were calling it home.  He did invite the vamps in because he had set a trap for them.  Simply stated the way Merlin had set up the castle's defenses, once the vamps were inside, Harry was able to drop the whole second floor on top of their heads and squished them. 

Bad Alias:
What's really weird to me was that the below quote counted as an invitation to Basil.

  Maybe because Basil was in the sky and landing on a roof and not entering a door or window it isn't technically a threshold?  ??? ??? ???
