About spoilers

Please, people, the forum etiquette is use tags for the most recent book, especially when it has only been a few days since it was released. So, please, be careful what you post.
And if I made a mistake myself, please, let me know and I am sorry.

Missing you, Md

There are many horrible sights in the multiverse. Somehow, though, to a soul attuned to the subtle rhythms of a library, there are few worse sights than a hole where a book ought to be. Someone has stolen a book (Terry Pratchett)

It's upfront that this is a spoiler zone, so if people really don't want to be spoiled they really have to skip this thread.  I don't think anyone is being rude in this thread for that reason, there is fair warning for everyone who reads it that this is a "Spoiler Zone."

I copy what I posted in another thread.

More or less, the etiquette of the forum has always been to take care and spoiler-tag the spoilers about the new books, so folks don't need to stay away of the whole section of the forum just because they haven't read the last book. It is also in the rules of this subforum https://www.paranetonline.com/index.php/topic,16.0.html, but besides that, it has always been the costume here. You may remember than we were spoiler-tagging posts almost a year after the publication of a book. I still remember my fury with someone spoiled me Maggie's name. I was so upset I made a harsh post and Iago gave me a warning. I am still sore...

DF Spoilers
If you have something spoilery to discuss about the Dresden Files, take it here!

I believe you Dina, but the above is the title for this thread!  So it is giving fair warning about spoilers up front!  It's in fact inviting you to write and discuss spoilers! If you don't want to, avoid the thread, that simple.  While it is true, this is really the only very active thread on the site, it's still titled a spoiler thread.  So if one discusses spoilers here I don't see where the rudeness comes in.  In general if the book or short story hasn't come out yet, people do hide their spoilers, once book or story is out, no more need to hide the spoiler.  That's they way I've always known it to be.

I think you are misremembering but it may be that I am the one doing that. In any case, I did not speak of rudeness, I just meant that sometimes people does not realize that they may be spoiling something for other people. I know this forum is full of good people.

That is true Dina, and my mind also doesn't work very well. ;)  However there are people who come here everyday that may have just began to read the series, so books that were written ten or fifteen years ago can be spoiled for them because they haven't read them yet.  As I said, it's in the title of the thread, "this is a spoiler zone,"  we talk about the books, someone is going to be spoiled.
