Dresden spells and would you change them

I've always thought that different spells draw energy from Harry at different rates. For instance, Fozare is a projection of force in the form of a blast of wind. Harry is taking air that is already present and moving it. Infriga is taking the water vapor in the air and cooling it down to the point that it freezes. I would hazard a guess that Infriga takes more out of Harry to do since it is doing more than just moving air around. Harry may choose which spells to use based upon how much energy he has or how much he is wanting to conserve. To me, it makes sense that in most fights, Harry had no idea how much fighting he would have to do so he started with a more conservative spell in case he had to pull out something bigger later or go through a prolonged fight.

There may be something to what you theorize (there's also a question of how much Harry may be drawing a bit upon ambient power to supplement his own).  But Jim does stress repeatedly that magic "has to do business with the laws of physics," so it'd make good sense that more energy-intensive magic would take more energy from the wizard!

But fwiw, "just moving air around" is itself VERY energy-intensive.  F=ma is a harsh Mistress!
