We don't know how much he farms.. Harry mentions burning down or almost burning down the barn. I think some livestock are mentioned, but unless Eb has someone on it full time, he doesn't have animals, maybe a couple of horses and a few cattle, but even they need some tending.  Crops also need tending, otherwise they do not produce..  I think it is more of an old homestead, that to outsiders appears long abandoned.

Object lesson as far as Bitcoin or Faegold goes, if you don't understand it, don't invest your savings in it... ::)
