How are Thomas and Lara potentially immortal?

Jim has never put a time limit on the age of vampires.  Certainly Lara is hundreds of years old.

White Court vampires are little "i" immortal. They don't age or suffer from illness and can regenerate non-fatal injuries( see Lara in TC). Unless they are killed or die from starvation, they will remain healthy and beautiful indefinitely. We know that Lara is 500 or so years old and Papa Raith is near 2000.

But in the fight in The Deeps Harry talks about lives that should have lasted for centuries longer - as in very long lived, but mortal.
