Weird? Pretty much.
Dina:
Petrocelli was a show from the 70's. It was about a lawyer, his wife that acted as his secretary, and his investigator, Pete. He lived in some desert area, I don't remember well where (Nevada, Arizona, somethig like that) and they were building a home while living in a trailer. There was a case of the week (most of the times the clients have no money to pay Petrocelli) and Petrocelli and Pete investigated it and the last part of the episode was always the trial. There Petrocelli presented his version of the facts, with flashbacks and all that jazz, and of course it was obvious that his version was right. Most of the times, the real guilty person confessed.
It was very light and fun and I liked it because my dad was a lawyer and I imagined him to be like Petrocelli :). Only that was not true, because my dad's practice was about work issues, not penal cases. And there were not oral trials for him (in fact, at the time in my country there were not oral trials at all, not even for penal cases)

Hi, y'all. I had heard about the new "Perry Mason." Not impressed with what I heard. If it is not Burr; it is not Mason.
Dina:
((((((WF))))) :D
Good to see you!
And yes. I understand they have to change the actor. I could have accepted a darker, more realistic tone, with corruption, sex and all that. It is HBO after all. But at least keep the core of the character!
Regenbogen:
Hi!
Now I've looked it up. The title was not familiar. I thought maybe it wasn't shown on TV here. But it was. The pictures look familiar, but I'm sure I have never watched that. Maybe because neither my parents nor I were interested in shows about lawyers. The only tv series with lawyers that I watched later was Boston Legal, but only because of William Shatner at first. Then because I liked it.
When I was a child, my parents mostly watched crime series like "Tatort". That started in the 1970s and goes on till today. You can watch episodes with different detectives in different cities in Germany, Austria and I think also Switzerland. Sometimes when it's an episode from Münster we watch it, because the character constellation is well made. It's about the detective and " his" mortician. Those two interacting sometimes feel like McCoy and Spock to me.
The other productions are different. So there is one for almost every taste.
Oh, it's late at night. I'm going to bed. Have to get up in 5 hours. Good night.
Dina:
Sleep well, Regen!
And that sounds like an interesting show. Yes, I have a sweet spot for court scenes, but by itself is not enough, what I liked about Petrocelli was that the character was kind and he had a great relationship with his wife. They were hard working but always nice to each other. Probably not very realistic but easy to watch and enjoy.
