Harry is Merlin. When present day Dresden creates Demon Reach in 5 time periods he will be stuck in the past, and become Merlin, and then Odin. Leaving a time paradox in place.
This is why Odin is so interested in Dresden (himself). He knows that there are players from the Outside trying to mess with time, preventing Demon Reach from being Created by destroying Earth from the past. If Harry is prevented from creating Demon Reach, and ending up in the past all those things locked up will instantly be freed in the past resulting in present time being undone. Odin/Dresden also repaired Little Chicago, it was an attempted assassination of Harry.
