Murphy, Dresden, Maggie were Venatori? wag

While I agree that if anyone knew how it would be him, I dont think he knows how. He's not actually all that clued in on the Archive, not being aware of or involved in the Oblivion War and all.

He doesn't need to know about the Oblivion War to realize that he shouldn't write anything down about it, or get on a plane (tickets, even digital ones, are printed, after all). He knew about Harry's trick to get a note to Ivy; hell, it's how Harry contacted Ivy in Changes, and Kincaid's the one who calls Harry. The "Tell Ivy that if she won't help me I'm going to pick up the blue notebook and go through my list of names" conversation.

Snark Knight:

--- Quote from: Kindler on May 31, 2018, 02:25:45 PM ---By that logic, shouldn't White Court Vampires—who speak freaking Etruscan, are functionally immortal, and love to hold on to information for blackmail purposes—be just as poor candidates?

--- End quote ---

Whampire venators are generally not a problem for screwing up the effort to make mortals forget the Oblivion enemies because they're not actually quite people. That said, Thomas personally being involved might actually be a problem since, as Mab put it, being in love makes him "mortal enough" for some purposes.

However, I'm not sure how well the venator agenda to keep wizards in the dark is actually working either, given that Carlos said being told about the Old Ones like the Sleeper is the last step of a formally trained apprentice's training.

No.

My point was that they hold onto information, and obsessively hoard it for future purposes. I know that their knowledge may not have the same effect as true mortals, but honestly, having the espionage-obsessed ageless incubi/succubi be involved in removing information from the world seems... ill-advised.
